If there was another life,
I would like to be a tree
I stand forever, neither sad nor cheerful
Half inhabitant in the soil
the other is blown in the wind.
My half casts a wet shadow
the other is bathing in the sunshine.
So quiet, so proud.

I never lean on anyone,
I never go after anything.

If there was another life,
I would like to turn into wind
In a moment I can also become eternal
I don't have delicate feelings, nor eyes full of feelings.
My half is running in the rain
the other travels in the splendor of spring.
Alone, I travel far:
carrying all the faded longings
I don't miss anymore
I absolutely do not like.

If there was another life,
I would like to be a bird.
Fly through eternity, not worried about getting lost.

I will have great hopes in the East
and a warm nest in the south,
I follow the setting sun to the west,
and I raise my scent to the north.

If there was another life
I wish that every time we met
it would be an eternity.

أَحاوِلُ خرقاً في الحياةِ فما أجرا وآسَفُ أن أمضي ولم أُبقِ لي ذكرا ويُؤلمني فرطُ افتكاري بأنَّني سأذهبُ لا نفعاً جلبتُ ولا ضُرّا مضتْ حِججٌ

وسترجع يوماً يا ولدي مهزوماً مكسور الوجدان
وستعرف بعد رحيل العمر بأنك كنت تطارد خيط دخان
