The extended family can be defined as a family composition with two or more adults from the different generations, residing together in the same house. While many people think that living in a large family is getting blurred day by day, some people know this as having more advantages.

Extended family structure saves from the loneliness that is generally felt in the nuclear family, and the cousins can play together and share the same ideas and feelings with each other. Children learn to get to know one another, caring, and cooperation, which help them develop a bond with the community in the society. Probability of having someone who is dear to your heart or the one has a shoulder to cry on grows up in a big family. Then household chores are not done by and individual but being shared among the member and also resource pooling saves money.

The bi nuclear family has too much of a responsibility for elders while loss of independence and privacy as there are too many people like distant cousins around all the time. The most important thing is interference in the personal chores and the generation gap can lead to misunderstanding and conflicts, as a result loosing a relationship of trust. Various opinions can cause quarrel among them.

In a conclusion, like every, other things, the extended family structure too, has its pros and cons but if it is analyzed, it has more of the benefits than the loss. The family members are always a support for each other and share a common background. The togetherness inculcates values necessary for the societal development, therefore, the extended family is a more preferable one.
