? Insight from Al-‘Allāmah Rabī’ bin Hādī حفظه الله regarding Refutations

? Al-Imām Rabī’ حفظه الله said:

“I do not criticise except the one whose evil has become great and his danger has become severe, as for the one who has an error or a few in innovations and other than that but does not pose a danger then I do not busy myself with refutation upon him, and how many people of innovation around the World there are that I have not engaged with.”

✍? Shaikh ‘Arafāt Al-Muhammadī حفظه الله said:

I say: Some have left alone people of innovation who are significant in their evil and have instead preoccupied themselves with those who do not pose a danger.

This highlights their negligence and ignorance…

? The ḥadīth concludes with the narration found in Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim:
⛔️ “??????? ????? ? ????? ????? ?? ???? ??????,
↘️
⚠️ ????̄? ???? ???? ???????? ??? ?? ???????.”

? “??????? ????? ? ?????”
▪️ This means accusing someone or demanding something falsely, based on a false claim, whether it pertains to wealth, land, lineage, or anything else.

▪️ When a person does this to increase their worldly gain - meaning to seek wealth, status, abundances or prestige, Allāh will only increase him in poverty and humiliation. Although such a person seeks abundances and honour, Allāh, the Mighty and Majestic, deals with him contrary to his intention by granting him only scarcity and disgrace. Why? As a punishment for their deceitful intention.

▪️ Therefore, anyone who seeks status and honour through sinful means, Allāh punishes them with humiliation and disgrace as mentioned in this narration: “????̄? ???? ???? ???????? ??? ?? ???????.”

▪️ Similarly, in another ḥadīth recorded by Imām Aḥmad, the Prophet ﷺ said:
“??????? ?????? ???? ?? ??? ??? ??? ??????? ?? ?? ???? ??, ??? ?? ???? ???? ??? ????? ?? ??? ????.”

▪️ A Muslim must not falsely accuse others or claim rights with the people that do not belong to him. This applies to false claims concerning wealth, land, lineage, status, or anything else.

⛔️ The greater the harm caused by such false claims, ↘️
⚠️ the greater the sin and prohibition.

▪️ Therefore, a Muslim must fear Allāh, act justly, and avoid taking what rightfully belongs to others. False claims based on lies result in Allāh dealing with such a person contrary to his intention, increasing him in disgrace and poverty.

⚠️This is Ḥizbiyyah‼️

?Shaykh @Arafatbinhassan al-Muḥammadī, ḥafiẓahullāh, was asked:

Question: What do you advice some of the teachers who diligently persue their students in being attached to themselves, that whatever the teacher says is always correct❓

?️nswer: This is an error. Do not become attached to anyone. A teacher should be appreciated for his teaching. I am a teacher; I quote what Allāh said, the Messenger said and present the evidence—al-lḥamdulillāh (that's it). And if I make a mistake, it should be said that I made a mistake. No one is infallible.

For this reason, you may love your teacher or your shaykh, but if they make a mistake, you should point it out and help them learn or clarify where the mistake is. This is what students used to do with their shuyūkh and teachers because they loved and respected them.

Catastrophy arises when the teacher himself wants the students to be attached to him, to listen only to him, and to accept only his opinion. If he gives advice, he expects it to be followed, even if it is out of place. This is partisanship (ḥizbiyyah)❗And it is an error❗****

And he does not encourage them by saying; go to Shaykh so and so also, he teaches aswell. So and so is with us (upon the same methodology), benefit from him in a given science, whether in Qurʾān or in Jurisprudence. All of these are errors❗

*? The Value of Knowledge*

'Abdullah the son of Imam Ahmad Ibn Hanbal narrates an incident where Imam Ahmad's belongings were stolen....

"We arrived in Makkah at a residence where a Shaikh by the name of Abu Bakr Ibn Sama'a was residing, he said: "Abu 'Abdillah (Ahmad ibn Hanbal) came and resided in this residence, and I was a young boy (at the time) so my mother said to me: "Stick with this man and serve him, for indeed he is a righteous man, so I used to serve him (help, do chores etc) whilst he used to go out seeking knowledge of Hadith.

(So one day) his possessions and his cloth were stolen. So when he came, my mother said to him, "Thieves entered upon you and stole your cloth".
So he said, "What occurred to the slates?"
So my mother said to him, "They are there on the arch".

And he did not ask about anything else other than them".

Sh. Dr. ‘Abdullāh ibn Zalfīq ad-Dafīrī [حفظه الله] posted on his telegram channel:

The distinguished scholar and Ḥadīth specialist ?????? ????̄ʿ ??? ??̄??̄ ??-????????̄ [حفظه الله] said:

“?????? ?? ????̄?’? ????????, ??? ?? ????? ????????:

I hope the youth of this Ummah will not enslave themselves to individuals or chase after blind emotions. Rather, they should judge individuals, statements, and beliefs according to Allāh’s religion if they truly accept Allāh as their Judge, as they claim.

??? ??????-Ṣ?̄??ḥ [????????? ????????????] ??? ??? ???????? ??? ??????? ??????????? ??? ??????:

That is why you find our Salafu-Ṣāliḥ, in their writings weighing sects and groups, with the criteria of Allāh. They assign each group the position it deserves, categorising them accurately. They place individuals and groups in their proper place, neither elevating anyone nor any group beyond what they deserve.

??????? ?? ??? ????? ?? ??? ???’?̄? ??? ??????, ??? ?????:

Likewise, we deal with individuals in light of the Qur’ān and Sunnah, using Allāh’s just balance, which neither inclines [towards favouritism] nor wrongs [out of injustice]. But to manipulate these scales and weigh people according to our whims—raising whom we wish by our desires and lowering whom we wish by our desires—this is misguidance and following of whims.”
