From Greece to France to the UK, from Florida to California, our Temple is growing and developing. We hope you will consider joining our great, momentous Temple and becoming part of the restoration and ascendancy of natural religion. The deadline to join the Catechetical Program to become a new member is Monday, September 9. If you miss this opportunity, you will have to wait until next year.

1 month, 2 weeks ago

Our first Catechetical meeting is offered tonight at 7:30 pm EST and tomorrow at 3:30 pm EST. Join tonight or tomorrow by noon if you want to attend this first meeting.

1 month, 2 weeks ago

Tonight we begin our third catechetical program cohort, and we will host the same meeting tomorrow afternoon as well. The catechetical program will last 3-6 months and meet biweekly for 1.5 hours. We participate in the Temple to restore natural religion as the primary religion of the world, work towards cooperation and growth between pagan traditions, guide and enlighten humanity and instruct them in proper moral standards, rectify the errors and existential crises of modernity, and work towards the construction of local temples. Anyone wishing to join should apply within the next week via https://t.me/+L9bL3oNpKnFmMTMx

We are seeking composed, intelligent individuals who carry themselves professionally.

"To Hallow," wéoh, and vígja

There is a general practice among the Anglo-Saxon theodsmen where they wish to reinstate a very traditional hallowing boon (prayer) based upon the Old Norse "Ása Þórr vígi," by replacing the word vígi with Old English wéoh. This is a great idea, but not carried out correctly and I'd like to share why and present a better option.

The word vígi (from vígja) in Old Norse means "to hallow." Seeing an actual traditional boon we of course want to reinstate it into our modern practice. The issue is the use of Old English wéoh as a verb; it was never a verb, but a noun ("something which IS holy"). The closest option we can find to vígja can be glimpsed in the Old English word fulwian which meant "to baptize" and consists of ful + wian. The underlined word is believed to stem from wīhan which is precisely cognate with the Old Norse vígja*. As such, wīhan would be the proper term and we would conjugate for the same usage as the Old Norse word yielding wīha (or wia simplified). Thus our boon would look like "Þunor wīha" - "Thor hallow.*"

Against Polygamy

Polygamy contributes to low social trust, familial insularity, inbreeding, and feuds and skirmishes. Polygamy is a primitive human tendency in the process of eradication by the superior principles of civilization, but humanity presently lacks the government, cultural understanding, and conviction necessary to advance itself to true civilization, and instead stagnates in a half-measure that is worse than barbarism. People are too squeamish and unprincipled to accept the goodness of authoritarianism, eugenics, nationalism and much less ethnonationalism, natural religious theocracy, and hierarchy. They would much rather be nice slaves and cattle led to the slaughterhouse than masters and orderers; they crave the lawlessness of barbarism without wanting to accept its brutality, and the security of civilization without wanting to accept its sobriety: degenerate, unthinking weaklings.

A religious response to the assertion that AI could possess a soul or rights:

Anything artificial (AI, androids, etc.) cannot have a soul. Soul, or anima, is the animating force that animates formed organic matter; it is the One Divine Lifeforce (the Good/God) extending/emanating Itself into matter/multiplicity, a part of the One.

Simulated life will never have a soul, because it is not real life, just electricity and programming—not a miracle or eternal wonder, just a feat of engineering—not an all-encompassing first principle, just a conditioned effect—not spiritual or soulful. Because simulated life does not have actual life and hence does not share in and derive from the Divine Good (is not loved into existence by God), it does not possess a normatively inviolable and transcendentally grounded dignity, and therefore it has no rights; its owners have the responsibility to use it for the good, but I contend that it is never good to play God (transgress humanity’s naturally prescribed parameters as created participants in Divinity by rather endeavoring to be originators or commanders of being) or to use technology in a way that is unjust, unhealthy, or detrimental to humans. Humans are subordinate to God and must accept that subordination instead of asserting dominance and superiority over Being; Being is Divine and Wonderful, and man’s contrivances are hubristic, limited, and flawed, and his defiance of natural order is always a defiance of God, a transgression of the dignity inherent in Being, a rape. From the story of Gilgamesh to Eden to Babel to Milton to Mary Shelley to Michael Crichton, the great writers have rightly condemned this hubris and demonstrated logically (for, a story is simply an illustration of logical principles and their outcomes) that scientists need to be put in their place. My own religious and philosophical arguments based on natural law morality and Platonic philosophy and theology have demonstrated the injustice of scientific hubris here.

Sanatana Dharma informs us that there are four classes of people, and that they must be ordered properly for society to be just, stable, and ideal. There are the priests, the warriors, the merchants, and the laborers, and they should rule each other in that order. In our case here, the world is ruled by a merchant class whose second class in command is a warrior class, driven by the monopolistic philosophy of their merchant superiors, and the scientists of today are laborers working for this merchant class that is based on hubris (pride and disregard) and the desire for world domination. Do you want your scientists ruled by greed and ignorance, ruled by arrogance and war, or ruled by piety, justice, and regard? All should be ruled by the priestly class for there to be justice and good order. Plato said as much with his argument for philosopher kings. Here is the band-aid rip for you: The only just and legitimate society is one based on natural religion, theocracy; it is authoritarian, and that authority derives from the extent to which one has the capacity to assume responsibility (freedom) and conforms to natural law (justice); and it realizes its religious essence and exercises itself through public worship and honor of its religious king who does all things with the utmost honor and bears the divine right to rule so long as he persists in justice. Or, you can sit here and try to argue that merchants, unaccountable hundreds of politicians, and genocidal psychopaths are the preferable, inherently just system, but I see nothing in the philosophy of positive liberty or natural law or Platonic theology nor anything in nature or practical reason to support that whatsoever.

The best and most benevolent method of teaching people is simply to ask questions. The best method of teaching those who are too simple-minded to find the answers to the questions (children, the disadvantaged, and the idiotic majority) is to provide them with stories and conditioning, and the best treatment for these simpletons is to give them very little freedom, as corresponding to their infantile capacities of assuming responsibility. Which kind of person are you? Are you the slave who is not responding to the exigencies the world faces? Why is that?

People do not need to hear wisdom; they need to be treated wisely, which is to say, honestly.

We have now, generally speaking, entered the month of Second Yule. This, as my previous article mentions, is the traditional month of the Holy Tide itself and marks the beginning of the traditional year.

The Yule Holy Tide takes place January 24th and lasts three days. Again, this point marks the official ending of one year and beginning of the next. When we bid the Gods and Goddesses grant us a bountiful new year.

You can find my article on Yule here.
