Read the Bible

Please hear my heart:

I will not read the documents you write. It takes too much time, and if I give feedback, there’s a sense of “ownership” I feel for the document or, at least, the conver that if it doesn’t get the expected outcome you want, that you’ll blame me or say the “law doesn’t work” (which is untrue).

If I do it for you then I have to do it for everyone. And just today (I counted), I had 5 people send me documents to read over, correct, and give input on. (All of them are too long btw…)

There was a time when I didn’t know the law and had never written something. I had to walk through that door on my own.

You should do the same.

Not to diminish you but to build you. Not to ignore you but to make you the one who will command respect.

Go do the “oven treatment” and struggle to get better at regulating government. America needs her Christians to write the truth of Christ as the weapons to wrangle evil government. “Politics” won’t do it. Christians using the power Christ gave them will.

You are going to have to fail & feel pain bc we have neglected this duty for over 100 years.

It is worth it. It is necessary.

When the words are yours, they mean more. As God levels you up, it will mean more if He did it and not bc “Jarrin said this notice was good.”

I’m not powerful or mighty. I’m just God’s servant and am willing to die for what I say & do.

I know evil is all throughout government & that God hates evil.

I trust His faithfulness & His character to bless me and work His will for His glory & that He has my best in mind when He does things.

Amen.

The precision and strictness of the law is useful to learn the majesty & sovereignty of God’s law.

His word clearly shows His power & wisdom for government.

And…

Christ warned the church at Ephesus that while they had precision for His doctrine and correctly identified false teachers, which was good, they had left their first love: Jesus Christ (Rev 2:4).

So while Christ acknowledged the goodness of applying His law to evil, Christ’s correction clearly pointed to loving Him as the purpose of the law that the church at Ephesus had wrong.

Now the Spirit speaketh expressly that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits and doctrines of devils.

Furthermore, just as they did not think it worthwhile to retain the knowledge of God, so God gave them over to a depraved mind, so that they do what ought not to be done.

Stay grounded in God's Word and stay focused on Jesus Christ as the storm is getting worse🙏

Faithfulness

Some weeks back, two coonhounds were dumped at the Homestead. Both starving & skittish (one more than the other).

We named them Deborah & Jael (see Judges chapter 4).

Today, the pups are fatter. We can’t see their rib. Deb is very familiar with us and Jael is letting us pet her…kinda.

I had the thought as my son was petting them that, “These two pups were dumped here & were unwanted. They didn’t know us. They had nowhere else to go for food, or safety, or help, or provision of any kind, but my family’s enduring faithfulness to love them even though they didn’t love us eventually brought them into our family and now they are well on their way to sleeping in front of the wood stove as winter creeps in.”

Made me smile.

Because I thought of Jesus…

I have always wanted a tree alley down a driveway. Something majestic about a line of trees welcoming you home.

Grace & I have marked out pecan saplings around the property, so that we can replant along the drive leading into the Homestead.

Be deliberate about the change you want to leave on their earth. It may take time and you may not even see it.

But it still may bless others.
