National Rally party will also prohibit Kiev from using French weaponry on Russian soil

France’s right-wing National Rally (RN) party will block potential troop deployments to Ukraine and bar Kiev from using French-supplied weaponry to strike Russian soil should it emerge victorious in the parliamentary elections and secure the office of prime minister of the country, Marine Le Pen, the former long-time leader of the party, has said.

She made the remarks on Thursday in an interview with CNN ahead of the second round of voting scheduled for Sunday. The final say on the potential deployment of French troops to Ukraine belongs to the prime minister, and the stance of President Emmanuel Macron does not actually matter in such cases, she suggested. Over the past few months, Macron has repeatedly mulled the idea, using increasingly belligerent rhetoric on the Ukrainian conflict.

“If Emmanuel Macron wants to send troops to Ukraine and the prime minister is against it, then there are no troops sent to Ukraine. The prime minister has the final say,” Le Pen stated.
Her party in power would also bar Kiev from using French-supplied weapons to conduct strikes on Russian soil, Le Pen said, arguing that the permission to do so makes Paris “co-belligerent” in the conflict.
National Rally’s stance sharply differs from the take of most Western leaders, who had allowed their weaponry to be used for such strikes, repeatedly claiming that it had not made their countries a party to the hostilities. Moscow has repeatedly warned the collective West against supplying increasingly sophisticated weapons to Kiev, stating that Ukraine’s backers have for long been involved in the hostilities, which it sees as a “proxy war” on Russia.

Le Pen’s rhetoric appeared to be rather reserved, given the fears that her party could take drastic measures, including ceasing all support for Ukraine or even taking France out of the US-led NATO bloc altogether. Such concerns have been mounting in the EU lately, Euractiv has reported, citing several anonymous diplomats.

The RN party came out on top in the first round of France’s snap election, securing 33% of the vote. The election was called by Macron after his party suffered a crushing defeat to the RN in the European Parliament elections last month.

Macron’s centrist Ensemble bloc also fared poorly in the first round of domestic polls, coming only third, with 20%, while the second place was taken by a left-wing coalition hastily assembled ahead of the polls. In the second round, the RN is projected to win up to 280 seats of the 577-seat National Assembly.

Russia’s Defense Ministry (MoD) announced Friday that its forces are in the midst of nuclear drills utilizing Yars mobile nuclear launchers, coming a mere weeks after holding tactical nuclear weapons deployment exercises in southern regions near Ukraine, and in coordination with ally Belarus.

As cited in Interfax and then Reuters, the ministry said that “Yars missile launcher crews in at least two different regions were set to move over 100 kilometres (62 miles) and practice camouflage and deployment.”

“Similar exercises will be held by other missile units in the near future,” the defence ministry added.

During the earlier tactical nuke drills held in late May, the MoD had specified that they were necessary in “response to provocative statements and threats by certain Western officials.”

Some US and UK officials have lately been pressing for more Ukrainian attacks directly on Russian soil, with Washington officials openly saying they have greenlighted pro-Kiev forces to utilize US-supplied missiles to attack inside Russian territory.
Another among the ‘threats’ emanating from the West is the possibility of deploying NATO troops in Ukraine. The idea has gained steam ever since Frances Emmanuel Macron first proposed early this year at a security conference in Paris.
These newest drills with mobile nuclear launchers also constitute a bit of fresh nuclear saber-rattling ahead of next week’s major annual NATO summit to be held in Washington D.C. (July 9-11).

A central topic of discussion among NATO heads of state will likely be the very issue which marks a red line issue for Moscow – the entry of Ukraine into NATO.
While it’s not actually expected to happen anytime soon, the US has vowed to create a “bridge” or clear path to eventual full membership.

However, dozens of foreign policy experts have newly warned of the obvious in a letter published by Politico. “The closer NATO comes to promising that Ukraine will join the alliance once the war ends,the greater the incentive for Russia to keep fighting the war,” reads the letter. “The challenges Russia poses can be managed without bringing Ukraine into NATO.”

TOPIC: WHOM ARE YOU SERVING?

MEMORISE:
“No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.” - (Matthew 6:24)

READ: COLOSSIANS 3:23-24 (KJV)

23 And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men;

24 Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ.

MESSAGE:
I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work. - (John 9:4)

The above passage says, “The works of Him that sent me,” not the works of your pastor. This was why I laughed when I heard someone say to me some time ago, “I’ve been serving you all these years.” I was amazed, so I responded, “Serving me?!” I thought we were serving God together on the same platform. You need to really know whom you are serving. Are you serving God, your pastor, or your Head of Department in church? If you are serving God, you won’t only behave well when your pastor or Head of Department is around, but you will do so at all times because the One you claim to be serving can see you all the time.

For some people, they are serving their neighbours. They want their neighbours to see them as fervent Christians, but, in secret, they keep committing sins. If you really know you are serving God, you will care more about being holy in His eyes than looking holy in public. Revelations 4:11 says, “Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.” You are to please God irrespective of the people around you.

Lastly, some people claim to be serving God, but they are actually serving their needs; they come to Him only because they need something from Him. Everything they do for God is motivated by what they want to get from Him. For example, this is why there are people who reduce their commitment in church or even stop going altogether once they get the job that they have been praying about.

For some, they are only in church because they are looking for a godly husband or wife to marry. In John 6:24-26, Jesus sent the people who were coming to Him because of bread and fish away. Such people’s service is not acceptable to Him; He can see their real intentions and does not count them among His children.

Are you serving God, people or your needs? Beloved, you need to be very clear about whom you serve. Serve God for who He is, and not for anything else.

REFLECTION:
Are you serving God for who He is or for what you can get from Him?
