The bar graph illustrates how many magazines were sold per capita in five different countries from 2003 to 2007.

Overall, the sales of magazines decreased in countries A, B, and C, while those for countries D and E either increased or remained unchanged. Notably, country B consistently had the highest sales per person, but the reverse was true in country E.

Focusing on the first three countries, they all followed a similar trajectory during the given period. The highest figure belonged to country B, which stood at around 50 magazines per person in 2003. This number then fell gradually to nearly 45 in 2007. Similarly, the sales in countries A and B declined from about 49 to 39 and from 38 to 32 magazines per person respectively.

In contrast, countries D and E exhibited different patterns. Firstly, the figure for country D grew by approximately 5 units, finishing the period with 24 magazines per person. Moreover, although the number of magazines in country E rose by 1 unit in 2005, it stayed stable at about 5 magazines per person in 2007.

*The pie charts depict the global share of fresh and salt water, along with the sources for fresh water. The bar graph gives information about how much water three countries use for agricultural, domestic and industrial purposes.

Overall, only a tiny amount of world’s water is considered freshwater, predominantly sourced from ice and glaciers. It is also notable from the bar chart that agricultural water usage is highest in Arab countries, whereas it is industrial sector that utilizes most water in Canada.

Focusing on pie charts first, the proportion of salt water constitutes a hefty 97% of total world’s water, the rest of which is fresh water. Additionally, freshwater is derived from three primary sources: ice and glaciers, ground and surface. The share of water from ice & glaciers makes up higher than the other two figures combined, at 79%. Groundwater contributes to one-fifth of all fresh water, with a mere 1% coming from the surface.

Turning to the bar chart, Egypt and Saudi Arabia exhibit similar water usage patterns. Almost four-fifth of their water is allocated to agriculture, surpassing domestic usage fourthfold. The industrial use ranks last in these countries, with approximately 7% and 10% respectively. Conversely, in Canada, agriculture uses only 10% of the water, which is nowhere as high as the share of industrial use with 80%. Still, domestic water usage is similar to that in Arab countries, hovering at nearly 11%.*#task1#mixed#writing@englishwithxff

Nowadays the differences between countries are becoming less evident because we see the same TV shows, advertisements, fashion and follow the same brands. Do the advantages outweigh the disadvantages?

*In the contemporary world, countries are becoming increasingly similar to each other thanks to mass media and the global markets of different brand products. While this trend can pose some challenges, I am firmly convinced it is far more beneficial for both individuals and societies.

On the one hand, globalization can be detrimental for the society for two main reasons. One significant downside can be the erosion of unique cultural identities, primarily influenced by widespread TV shows and videos on social media, which can easily be accessed and adopted by people in all parts of the world. If this happens, social cohesion can also be weakened since traditions are mostly what can unite families and friends together. This can lead to a more significant concern which can be the decline in cultural diversity. Heightened global similarities can foster a homogeneous world, possibly discouraging people from traveling some parts of the world.

Despite these concerns, I believe that the advantages of globalization are substantial. This is because, firstly, there can be opportunities for cultural exchange because of shared media. This can promote the global community and unity where people have a greater understanding of their surrounding cultures. Secondly, the rapid dissemination of trends and innovations through social media and TV program enables people worldwide to embrace new technologies without geographical constraints. Finally, given that brands outsource their markets to different parts of the globe, they can create new employment opportunities for those living there, which, in turn, is likely to promote economic prosperity of the country. This can simultaneously prove advantageous for customers in those countries, who can have an easy access to their favourite brands.

In conclusion, although globalization can result in the loss of diversity and unity within a culture, I am of the opinion the positives outnumber the negatives due to the fact that it can create a broader community where an easy access is provided for all trends and brands in all parts of the world.*#task2#writing#outweigh@englishwithxff
