Hey guys, I'm going to be slow or unplugged for a few days until this medicine kicks in and I get this Anxiety back down under control.

I've had several anxiety attacks that gripped me physically over the last few nights, as well as once today at work for an hour and fifteen minutes.

You could categorize it as suffering. I'm managing, but it is brutal. My support system is awesome! I'm well taken care of and hanging in there, by God's sustaining grace.

These diseases are wicked, but the Lord is Lord of His creation and He has a purpose in these types of situations occurring to us in time. Ultimately, in the fullest sense, the purpose is to conform us more into the image of His only begotten Son, the Lord and Savior of all who believe in His name, the Lord Jesus Christ.

How can we resent that?

Charles Spurgeon said "I have learned to kiss the waves which throw me up against the Rock of Ages". To that, I say, Amen, and Amen.

For those who don't know, Spurgeon battled Clinical Depression his entire life.

These things happen to these frail bodies we inhabit. It is a part of this earthly existence and is a means to an end from the perspective of the believer and of Scripture.

Some remedies are this:

1. Let us live with an eternal worldview. Paul said "for I consider not the present sufferings of this life worthy to be compared with the glory that is to be revealed in us" (Romans 8:18).

With our eyes set on eternity, we approach these matters occurring in time from the perspective of flowing downstream from God's sovereign hand and purpose. This lightens the crushing and deafening weight of these trials when they come. Though they are severe, and at times crippling, there is always a purpose in the midst. Trust the Lord.

1. Our bodies are weak and frail, and being reminded of such is a blessing, not a sorrow. It weans us off of this world and sets our eyes on the Lord and eternity.

Psalm 73:26
My heart and my flesh may fail,
But God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.

1. One day we will never face these types of agonies again. We will be with God in eternity forever, free from every pain, every disease, every sickness, every sorrow, and every tear.

Revelation 21:4
and He will wipe away every tear from their eyes; and there will no longer be any death; there will no longer be any mourning, or crying, or pain; the first things have passed away.”

Trust God, brothers and sisters.

Though the trial be steep and severe, and though the load be heavy, the Lord is sovereign over it all and means it for our good and for His glory, Romans 8:28. We are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus, Ephesians 2:10. And He who began a good work in us will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus, Philippians 1:6.

These parting thoughts from Steven J. Lawson captures these thoughts perfectly:

"How wise of God to bring all these storms of affliction so you and I would be broken vessels, so we would walk with a limp, so that we would identify with hurting people whom we serve, so that we would be weaned off of this world, so that we would minister with an eternal perspective, so our faith would grow stronger, so that we would be more humble, so that we would be more Christlike."

Pray for me, please. If you are suffering, you need to know that it is not a cliche statement to say that you are not alone. You truly aren't. Reach out. Find help. Do not endlessly suffer in silence. Pray.
