Good evening, everyone! ?

After a long period of hard work and stress, I’m taking a short break to maintain a bit of work-life balance. ?‍♂️

Next Wednesday, I’ll be departing for China, so it will take some time before I’m back online. ??✈️ I’ll be inactive for the next 7 days but will return to the teaching realm soon after. ?

In the meantime, my channel is filled with Task 1 reports and Task 2 essays, which you can access using these hashtags: #task2 (for Task 2 essays) | #task1 (for Task 1 reports). ??

Please share the channel with your friends who are taking the IELTS soon! ?️ I’ll be running various marathons based on each IELTS section and organizing online courses with live lessons. ??

Talk to you later.
Peace! ✌️****

*Many school graduates have been taking a gap year before going into higher education. This trend has both benefits and drawbacks some of which are time to choose a suitable field of study and work, preventing any future regrets, and the loss of adaptation to an educational environment as one of the disadvantages.

Students during a gap year have enough time to find themselves in life. That means these school graduates can discover and realise their hidden talents within a year off. This is usually done by attending various classes and seminars that focus on a specific field of work. In this way, through trials and errors, youngsters can end up making a right and lifetime decision that will affect their future education and career prospects.

Moreover, there is an opportunity to gain practical skills and knowledge in a certain field. Once a student chooses their permanent major to study at university, they might find a job associated with their domain. Surrounded by more experienced counterparts within one’s workplace, young individuals would be able to gain invaluable experience that can certainly assist them in university, boosting their academic performance, compared to those who enrolled in university right after finishing school.

Nevertheless, a sabbatical year is not without its negatives. One downside that a certain number of people can fall prey to is the need to adapt to a student life from scratch. We cannot deny the likelihood that some school graduates might spend their gap year in a relaxed manner without studying or working. In such a possible scenario, a spontaneous comeback to an educational institution can take its toll on their performance and attention during lectures. It would be simply challenging for them to stay focused for a long time.

Another disadvantage of having a year off is a total shift in ideas and goals. Referring back to practical work experience, students could change their opinion about pursuing tertiary education. If a school graduate finds a well-paid job, which is quite possible, the desire to study at university may simply vanish. This is because youngsters are usually immature and they tend to prioritise temporary pleasure over long-term success.

In the light of the above, it becomes clear to one that taking a gap year has both positive and negative aspects, but when it comes to whether or not to have this year off, school graduates first need to organise their upcoming gap year carefully in order to spend it effectively and not lose their initial vector.
