“I am not speaking to you through mortal flesh. It is my spirit that adresses your spirit, as if we’ve passed through the grave and stood at God’s feet, equal.”

I especially loved this scene. It’s exactly how I imagined it from the book. Can’t wait for the director’s cut because it promises even more creepy castle scenes.

I’ve been waiting to watch Nosferatu ever since it was announced a few years ago. January is always vampire/Gothic horror season for me so the timing was perfect.

I have to start with the salute to all the performances from the cast. The dedication and art they put into the film elevated it to another level.

The film was aesthetically pleasing. The color palette, although limited offered a bleak atmosphere. The outfits were all beautifully made, and accurate to the period. Yes. EVEN Count Orlok’s mustache.

I have to admit that I am very biased in my opinion of this film. I’m a little too enthusiastic about vampire literature and this was THE film for me. It carries the essence of Bram Stoker’s Dracula, even if it wasn’t a word-for-word adaptation.

Robert Eggers proved himself to be a true master of the craft. I’m more than ready for what he has prepared next. Gonna rewatch all of his films for now…
