I sometimes do not even know what to post. Midterms period is coming so I wish everyone grinding out there more energy and willpower. I wish everyone applying early to think clearly and not to give up while perfecting their essays.

Today I had very insightful conversation with prof. Khalil Ramadi. Basically we talked about life after university, how to make professional decisions that align with your personal interests, and how does engineering program at NYUAD compare to the brightest engineering programs in US. You can feel so much life in his words and actually see that a person enjoys what he is doing.

I composed my first piece of music as part of my assignment for core class called “What is music?”. I thought that I would make a good producer but I instantly realised how much musical theory I lack to be able to produce something good.

Some people of our generation have issues like not having friends to rely on in times of hardship. Some complain that they can not find good friends. In my opinion, one way to tackle this problem would be to shift the perspective. Shift the problem from “how can you find a good friend or befriend a good person” to “how can you become a good friend and attract other good people”. And it sort of makes sense since these days many people are getting more and more self-centered so that they forget that they also have responsibilities as a “friend”. So if you will become a person who checks upon friends once in a while and is there for them in times of hardship you will be able to gather a good cycle of friends or so I believe at least.

Writing tip:

The building blocks of many academic texts are paragraphs. Make sure the first sentence of a paragraph introduces an idea and the last sentence concludes it. The length of the paragraph should be directly proportional to the complexity of the idea. This way you can optimize your writing.

After long consideration I have decided to switch my major to Political Science. It has been my childhood dream to work in legislative branch of government. My unquenchable thirst for exploring social structures and thoughts turned out to be greater than my will to pursue engineering. From early on I was heavily invested in reading historical books and autobiographies. Endlessly watching documentaries on National Geographic and Viasat History I always dreamt of driving a change in legislative system of my country. I think by pursuing Political Science I will be able to apply my unending eagerness to fight for justice and equity.
