Shaykh Muqbil bin Hādī Al-Wādi’ (رحمه الله) - “Democracy is Kufr!”

Muḥammad ibn ʿAbd al-Wahhāb said :

قال محمد بن عبد الوهاب : التأويل الفاسد ليس عذرًا لصاحبه، كما أنه -سبحانه- لم يعذر إبليس في شبهته التي أبداها، كما لم يعذر من خالف النصوص متأولًا مخطئًا، بل كان ذلك التأويل زيادة في الكفر، و قال و منها: أن الشبهة إذا كانت واضحة البطلان لا عذر لصاحبها

Corrupt taʾwīl [interpretation] is not a ʿudhr [excuse] for its proponent, just as Allāh – Exalted is He – did not excuse Iblīs for the argument he presented, nor did He excuse those who opposed the texts with erroneous interpretations.

Rather, such taʾwīl [interpretation] was an increase in disbelief. And he also said: Among them is that if the fallacy is clearly invalid, its proponent has no ʿudhr [excuse].

عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ مَا مِنْ أَيَّامٍ أَعْظَمُ عِنْدَ اللَّهِ وَلَا أَحَبُّ إِلَيْهِ مِنْ الْعَمَلِ فِيهِنَّ مِنْ هَذِهِ الْأَيَّامِ الْعَشْرِ فَأَكْثِرُوا فِيهِنَّ مِنْ التَّهْلِيلِ وَالتَّكْبِيرِ وَالتَّحْمِيدِ

Ibn Umar رضي الله عنهما reported:

The Prophet ﷺ said:

“There are no days greater and more beloved to Allah than these ten days of Dhul Hijjah, so increase in them your declaration of the oneness of Allāh, your exaltation of Him, and your praise of Him.”

Therefore, any group which leaves, changes, or refuses to implement some of the obligatory prayers, or fasting, or the Hajj, or violates the blood and wealth of the Muslims, or engages in consumption of intoxicants, or adultery, or fornication, or gambling, or marrying the maharem, or who do not wage war against the kuffar, or do not impose the jizyah on the Jews and Christians, or any other matter from the obligations and prohibitions of the Deen for which there is no excuse for not acting upon, then war must be waged against this group even if they accept that the obligation or prohibition is part of the Deen. And, i do not know of any disagreement amongst the scholars in this regard ."

Ibn Katheer رحمه الله in his tafseer on tafseer of this Ayah:

Do they then seek the ruling of (the Days of) Ignorance? And who is better in judgment than Allah for a people who have firm Faith.

The Qur'an 5: 50

Said:

‘He, the Most High, objects to those who leave from under the ruling (Hukm) of Allaah, which encompasses all of what is good and which forbids evil, and goes to other than that, from the opinions and desires and terminologies, which are fabricated by men with no basis in the law (Sharee’ah) of Allaah. Such as the people of pre-Islamic days of Ignorance (Jaahiliyyah) who used to rule in accordance with the misguidance and ignorance, from which they would fabricate with their opinions and their desires.

And likewise, what the Tartars (Tataar) rule in, according to the kingdom-oriented politics that have been taken from their king, Genghis Khan , who fabricated for them ‘Al-Yaasiq’, which is a phrase that refers to a book assembled from rulings he took from several legislations from those of the Jews and the Christians and the Islamic religion (Millah) and other than them. And in it are also several rulings, which he took from his own views and desires. So it became a followed legislation amongst his descendants (lit. sons), which they put ahead of the ruling (Hukm) of Allaah and the Sunnah of His Messenger .

So whoever does that, then he is a disbeliever (Kaafir) whose fighting is obligatory (Waajib) until he returns to the ruling (Hukm) of Allaah and His Messenger such that he does not rule by other than it neither a little nor a lot.... '

قال ابن رجب الحنبلي رحمه الله:

"كان الزهري إذا دخل رمضان يقول : إنَّما هو تلاوة القرآن، وإطعام الطعام ."

Ibn Rajab Al-Hanbali رحمه الله said:

"When Ramadhān came, al-Zuhri used to say:

'There is only reciting the Qur'ān and feeding others.' "

عَنْ أَوْسِ بْنِ أَوْسٍ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:

"إِنَّ مِنْ أَفْضَلِ أَيَّامِكُمْ يَوْمَ الْجُمُعَةِ فِيهِ خُلِقَ آدَمُ وَفِيهِ قُبِضَ وَفِيهِ النَّفْخَةُ وَفِيهِ الصَّعْقَةُ فَأَكْثِرُوا عَلَيَّ مِنْ الصَّلَاةِ فِيهِ فَإِنَّ صَلَاتَكُمْ مَعْرُوضَةٌ عَلَيَّ"

Aws ibn Aws reported:

The Messenger of Allāh ﷺ said:

“Verily, the best of your days is Friday. Ādam was created on it, on it he died, on it the trumpet will be blown, and on it the shout will be made. Thus, send blessings upon me often, for your blessings are presented to me.”

‎Ibn al-Qayyim رحمه الله:

‎“Whoever’s Ramadhān was correct and safe (from evil), the rest of his year
‎will be safe (from evil, in sha Allah).”

Salmān Al-Fārisī رضي الله عنه said:

“A land does not elevate [the status of] anyone. A person is only elevated by way of his deeds!”
