After a break of a few weeks, I returned to work on my time series book ?. So far, I have been mainly focused on creating the backend and framework of the book - which includes setting up a Docker ? environment and packaging the datasets I will use in the book. This weekend, focusing on packaging the last dataset - the hourly generation of electricity in the New York sub-region. This data will be available in the NYgrid package (? WIP ⚠️):

Continue to work on my book, still focusing on the book prerequisites - docker environment, datasets, supporting packages, etc.

This weekend working on the last prerequisite - package the hourly demand for electricity in New York independent system operator by sub-region, which will be used as an example for high-frequency time series.

https://github.com/RamiKrispin/NYgrid

Once this is done, hopefully, this weekend, starting next weekend will start to work on the book's first chapters ?

The EIAapi R package is now on CRAN ?

The EIA API is one of my favorite resources for real-life time series data examples ❤️. I packaged a couple of datasets (see the USgas and USgrid packages), and it is going to be the main resource for my upcoming book on time series analysis and forecasting. The package provides a function to seamlessly query data from the EIA API v2 in a tidy format.

Version 0.1.2 of the USgas R data package is now on CRAN ?

The USgas package provides an overview of the consumption of natural gas in the US since 1973 with more than 300 monthly time series ? (or a total of 7700 years of data).
