The attacks caused an unconfirmed number of casualties amongst government forces, with fighters setting the presidential jet on fire at Bamako’s airport. JNIM claimed to have killed hundreds in the attack, but the Malian military has yet to confirm casualty figures.

?? #Ukraine: The Russian military attacked a civilian cargo ship transporting grain to #Egypt today. The ship was hit by a missile in the Black Sea immediately after leaving Ukrainian waters. No casualties amongst the ship’s crew have been reported thus far.

?? #Colombia: The ELN (National Liberation Army) recently attacked a Colombian military checkpoint in the Arauca town of Tame. At least two soldiers were killed as a result of the attack.

?? #Nigeria: An attack by jihadist group Boko Haram has left as many as 127 civilians killed in Nigeria’s Yobe region. The militants attacked a remote village on motorcycles, shooting civilians in a market before lighting the village on fire. Yobe has long been a major flashpoint in the war against Boko Haram, with attacks such as this taking place across the region.

?? #UnitedStates: Pro-#Palestine protesters marched through New York City today, setting off smoke bombs and flares in the streets. Police attempted to disperse the protests, with thousands reportedly taking part in the demonstration.

?? #BurkinaFaso: Hundreds were killed in the town of Barsalogho on Saturday after jihadists attacked locals digging trenches to protect the town. The massacre was carried out by fighters belonging to al-Qaeda affiliated groups, with some reports claiming as many as 400 were killed. The attack marks one of the bloodiest in Burkina Faso’s recent history.
