Merampi Iliadis – President of the European Kurash Confederation: The development of Kurash in Europe through National Olympic Committees is our constant focus

🔰The year 2024, which is coming to an end, has been very challenging for us. Despite the crisis in Europe related to the war in Ukraine, we managed to hold the continental championship and other events at a fairly high level thanks to the financial support from IKA.
224 Kurash athletes (100 women and 124 men) participated in the European Championship held in Edirne, Turkey.
As in previous competitions, the following countries actively participated: Moldova, Turkiye, Greece, North Macedonia, Bulgaria, Montenegro, Ukraine, Cyprus, Serbia, Poland, Georgia, Armenia.
❗️It is worth noting that finally, after the change of leadership in the Armenian Kurash Federation, a team of 6 athletes arrived at the European Championship.
At this point, as it is necessary to emphasize the high organization of the European Championship, I would like to express my deep gratitude to the Turkish Kurash Federation!!
Members of the Executive Committee of the European Kurash Confederation and I personally organized a meeting with the President of the Georgian Olympic Committee, 5-time world champion and Olympic champion Leri Khabelov. 📌At the meeting the matters related to holding the European Championship in Tbilisi was discussed.
We also agreed on the provision of material and technical assistance to the Georgian Olympic Committee, as well as, the Georgian Kurash Federation.

Мерампи Илиадис — Президент Европейской Конфедерации Кураш: Развитие Кураш в Европе через национальные олимпийские комитеты — наш постоянный фокус

🔰Завершающийся 2024 год был для нас очень сложным. Несмотря на кризис в Европе, связанный с войной на Украине, нам удалось провести континентальный чемпионат и другие мероприятия на достаточно высоком уровне благодаря финансовой поддержке IKA.
В чемпионате Европы, который прошел в Эдирне, Турция, приняли участие 224 спортсмена по Кураш (100 женщин и 124 мужчины).
Как и в предыдущих соревнованиях, активное участие приняли следующие страны: Молдова, Турция, Греция, Северная Македония, Болгария, Черногория, Украина, Кипр, Сербия, Польша, Грузия, Армения.
❗️Стоит отметить, что, наконец, после смены руководства в Федерации Кураш Армении на чемпионат Европы прибыла команда из 6 спортсменов.
В этот момент, поскольку необходимо подчеркнуть высокую организацию чемпионата Европы, я хотел бы выразить глубокую благодарность Федерации Кураш Турции!
Члены Исполнительного комитета Европейской Конфедерации Кураш и я лично организовали встречу с Президентом Олимпийского комитета Грузии, 5-кратным чемпионом мира и Олимпийский чемпион Лери Хабеловым. На встрече обсуждались вопросы, связанные с проведением чемпионата Европы в Тбилиси.
📌Мы также договорились об оказании материально-технической помощи Олимпийскому комитету Грузии, а также Федерации Кураш Грузии.

10 days left until the start of the World Championship

🇲🇳There are only a few days left until the most important event of the year in Kurash – the IX World Junior, Cadets and III Veterans Championship.
The International Kurash Association has begun serious preparations for the organization and holding of this prestigious championship.
⏳Registration is now complete. More than 400 participants from more than 30 countries have been registered.
December 2 is the official start day of the championship. According to the Regulations on the competition, athletes and their coaches will be staying at the Flowers Hotel in Ulaanbaatar. This hotel is located next to the “Mongol Wrestling Palace”, where the competitions will be held.
In addition, referee and coaching and Antidoping seminars, as well as IKA exams, are planned to be held in this sports complex and Hotel meeting rooms.
🔰Currently, representatives of the International Kurash Association working group are working in Ulaanbaatar together with representatives of the Mongolian Kurash Federation.
❗️We ask all national federations to enter the flight details of their participants in the “Flights” section of the “IKA Registration System” as soon as possible.
This will make the work of the Organizing Committee easier and will also prevent your team from spending too much time in Ulaanbaatar.

До старта чемпионата мира осталось 10 дней

🇲🇳Осталось всего несколько дней до самого важного события года по Кураш — IX чемпионата мира среди юниоров, кадетов и III ветеранов.
Международная Ассоциация Кураш начала серьезную подготовку к организации и проведению этого престижного чемпионата.
⌛️Регистрация уже завершена. Зарегистрировано более 400 участников из более чем 30 стран.
2 декабря — официальный день старта чемпионата. Согласно Положению о соревнованиях, спортсмены и их тренеры будут проживать в отеле Flowers в Улан-Баторе. Этот отель находится рядом с «Дворцом борьбы Монгол», где пройдут соревнования.
Кроме того, в этом спортивном комплексе и конференц-залах отеля планируется проведение судейско-тренерских и антидопинговых семинаров, а также экзаменов IKA.
🔰В настоящее время в Улан-Баторе совместно с представителями Федерации Кураш Монголии работают представители рабочей группы Международной Ассоциации Кураш.
❗️Мы просим все национальные федерации как можно скорее ввести данные о рейсах своих участников в разделе «Flights» «Системы регистрации IKA». Это облегчит работу Оргкомитета, а также не позволит вашей команде проводить слишком много времени в Улан-Баторе.
