Valentina Petrillo, the first openly transgender athlete to compete in the Paralympic Games, missed out on a medal in the women’s T12 400-meter sprint after finishing third in Monday’s semifinal. The 50-year-old Italian sprinter, who began transitioning in 2019, clocked a personal best of 57.58 but did not qualify for the final. Petrillo previously won 11 national titles in the men’s T12 category before transitioning, highlighting the growing concerns regarding the physical advantage of biological males participating in sports against biological females. Petrillo remains hopeful for a medal in the upcoming 200-meter race, with heat's starting on Friday and the final on Saturday.

In his annual Hajj message, the Supreme Leader of Iran, Ayatollah Khamenei has called upon all Muslim pilgrims undertaking Hajj to show full support for Gaza, using Hajj as an opportunity for "renunciation of the Zionist regime and its supporters, in particular the US, in words and actions."

While praising the "ironclad resistance of Palestine and the patient, oppressed people of Gaza," Ayatollah Khamenei declared that this year renunciation is "more significant than ever before" due to the tragic circumstances that have unfolded in Gaza, calling them "unparalleled in our contemporary history."

Around two million Muslims from all over the world are participating in the annual Hajj pilgrimage in Mecca this year.

Italy and Germany have vehemently rejected the ceasefire terms brought forward by Russian President Vladimir Putin to stop the war between Russia and Ukraine, in a two-day summit in Switzerland which was attended by several countries.

Italy's Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni labeled the Russian president's plan "propaganda" which effectively suggested that Ukraine "must withdraw from Ukraine".

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz called it "dictatorial peace.”

On Friday June 14, Mr. Putin claimed he would agree to a ceasefire if Ukraine withdrew troops from four regions which Russia partially occupies and has annexed.

According to the BBC, Andriy Yermak, chief of staff to Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky, said that "no compromise on independence, sovereignty or territorial integrity.”

Mr. Putin put his terms on the table prior to the two-day Summit on Peace in Ukraine which is seeking to discuss the “basic principles of ending the war.”

The US House of Representatives passed a measure on Friday, June 14, which will automatically register men between the ages of 18 and 26 for “selective service.”

According to Fox News, this was part of the annual National Defense Authorization (NDAA), which plans out the US government’s military and national security priorities over the next fiscal year.

This year alone, the NDAA is authorizing a staggering $895.2 billion in military training, a sharp $9 billion increase from 2024.

Despite not being invoked for over 50 years, it’s compulsory for all male US citizens to register for the selective service, also known as the military draft, when they turn 18. Failure to do so will be considered a felony, resulting in a whole series of legal challenges.

Israeli minister Benny Gantz has resigned from Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s emergency cabinet, calling Netanyahu delusional, while saying that the Israeli regime “will not win the war as planned,” calling upon other members of the War Cabinet to ‘do what is right’ and leave the cabinet.

Gantz further revealed that Netanyahu is acting on his own interests, and not for the betterment of “Israel’s” interests, citing that Netanyahu is preventing a “real Israeli victory in the war.”

Gadi Eisenkot, former IDF Chief of Staff and a current minister without a portfolio, followed suit and resigned.
Yechiel Tropper, another member of the War Cabinet, also resigned.

“That is why we are leaving the emergency government today, with a heavy heart but with full confidence,” Gantz claimed in a televised report.

The Palestinian Resistance has revealed that the Israeli regime killed three Israeli hostages, including a US citizen, in a deadly Israeli military operation on Saturday, which also killed more than 200 Palestinians and recovered only four Israeli hostages.

The group has not released the names of those killed but video footage showed three unidentifiable corpses with censor bars over their faces.

"Your captives will not be released unless our prisoners are freed," the video added.

The Palestinian death toll is presumably the worst over a 24-hour period of the Gaza war for several months and including many women and children, Palestinian medics said.

Israeli media have widely shared a video revealing that the Israeli army utilized the US-built pier (installed in central Gaza) to carry out the heinous massacre that killed at least 210 Palestinains, in the Nuseirat refugee camp in June.

Several Israeli media reports reported that a “special forces unit” had delved deep into the Nuseirat camp in a quest to recover four healthy living captives in the wake of intense bombing by Israeli warplanes.

The healthy Israeli hostages were then flown out of Gaza through the US-built pier, while Palestinans struggled to transport more than four hundred Palestinans in carts and private cars due to the Israeli army relentlessly bombing dozens of ambulances, leading to a severe hindrance in rescue operations.

Notably, the US-pier had been reinstalled on the coast on Friday after the US splurged tens of millions in repairs.

US President Joe Biden will likely issue a new executive order, centralized at seeking to reduce migrant arrivals at the US-Mexico border as early as Tuesday June 4.

This will allow US officials to promptly deport migrants who enter the US illegally without processing their asylum requests “once a daily threshold is met,” according to western media sources.

This will even give border officials the power to limit the amount of migrant arrivals. More than 6.4 million migrants have been stalled from crossing the US border illegally during Biden;s administration, the number being a record high that has further tainted his already arguably tarnished reputation.

Migrant arrivals have reportedly reduced this year, but experts believe the “trend is not likely to be sustainable.”

According to a Gallup poll, 27% of Americans see the immigration issue as the most important problem the country is facing, over the economy and inflation.
