?HM Treasury select committee has put out a call for anyone in the public to submit evidence as to how the UK economy can be decarbonised. ?

?Some rebels have been working away making a submission to send in as evidence. It’s ready to go.?

For Prime Minsiters Question Time, these elderly rebels decided it was time to use Civil Disobedience to push the climate emergency agenda. The Climate and Ecological Emergency Bill is supported by 7 parties across the spectrum and yet has been pushed back for 6 months ⏰

This is not how you treat an emergency. As Elders, Arnold and Sue know that time is precious. On September 9th, alongside dozens of others, they glued themselves to the gates of Parliament to disrupt their 'business as usual' agenda and to demand action on The Bill ?

Right now, countries across the world are bailing out climate destroying industries and the banks that fund them. This is our money going to Big Business and Polluters instead of People and Planet.

??This week, European Union will release a €2 trillion investment recovery plan from the pandemic. Airline companies want €26bn in European taxpayers' money. The UK has given £700m to EasyJet, with no commitments for people and planet.

?This is breaking the Paris Agreement. In other words, it breaks the only agreement for keeping our world habitable.

Rebel Ringing for London – a workshop for London Local Groups

Rebel ringing is an excellent way to support your local group to keep going and growing during the pandemic by reaching out to ‘warm’ contacts who have signed up to XR UK in your local group’s area. The aim of this workshop is help you leave with the confidence, information and tools that you need to get a successful rebel ringing campaign set up for your local group (or improve your existing campaign!)

?‍♀️ WHO IS IT FOR: Outreach Coordinators or any rebels that want to take a lead on supporting their local groups to get started or continue with sensitive outreach during coronavirus and beyond!

DETAILS: We will divide our time together into two sessions:

? SESSION 1 – 18:45 – 20:00: Rebel Ringing and your local group. Inspiration, ideas, thoughts, experiences, and concerns. This session will be interactive, giving you the space to explore rebel ringing and how it might work or is working for your group. We will also get some inspiration from the Hackney Local Group who have planned a very comprehensive rebel ringing campaign.

? SESSION 2: 20:15 – 21:30 Rebel Ringing Train the Trainer. We will share a simple session that you can use to train the rebels in your own group to give them the basic knowledge they need to get started as rebel ringers.

Sharpen up your Zoom Hosting and Facilitation game with a full zero to hero training session on the tech, settings, features and privacy and then the art of facilitating video meetings as well as a good more secure/private alternative (Jitsi). Especially learn how to be as inclusive and engaging for all particpants as we can be online.

This session is particularly aimed at LGs taking their rebellious business online but will be useful to all hosts rebel and non-rebel and to all but the more veteran Zoom hosts and facilitators.
