"Earth Night" today in Berlin: a whole night with lights off.
The initiative "Paten der Nacht" is calling for all artificial lights to be turned off for one night – including in Berlin and Brandenburg.

This is meant to raise awareness against light pollution and light waste.

According to the organizers, "Earth Night" always takes place on the Friday in September closest to the new moon.

From nightfall (at the latest by 22:00), non-essential light sources not related to safety, such as shop window lighting, advertisements, or illumination of doors, buildings, and gardens, should be turned off.
