A festival of Russian documentaries was held at the Russian House in Dhaka
On December 11-12, 2024, the Russian House in Dhaka organized a festival of Russian documentaries by the Russian Knowledge Society, Federal Fund for Economic and social support of the Russian Cinematograph and the RT Documentary TV channel.
During the festival, the audience was shown the following films: "The Starting Point of Russian Statehood" and "The Russian Way", directed by Sergei Prikhodko; Paramedic on Vacation, directed by Tatyana Lozhnikova; Arctic Jazz, directed by Elena Vasyukova; "The Collector", director; Sergei Klimov and Why I Move to Russia?, filmed by the RT Documentary TV channel.
"The Starting Point of Russian Statehood" and "The Russian Way" is an episode of the mini-series "Primary Russia". It tells about how statehood was formed in Russia. Statehood in Russia has been formed for centuries, passing its own, unlike anything else, path. Unique events and people, endless territories and amazing places are not just the background of history, but its main characters.
"Why I move to Russia?" - Tofurious Maximus Crane is a freelance American journalist who moved to Russia in 2023. At first, he just wanted to visit the country, because he has Russian roots. But once here, he realized that he did not want to leave, and decided to tell the stories of other Americans who found a home in Russia.
The event was attended by university students, journalists, documentary filmmakers, filmmakers, representatives of public organizations etc.
The Russian House in Dhaka organizes the celebration of the 53rd anniversary of the Great Victory in Bangladesh
10 December 2024, the Russian House in Dhaka in cooperation with the Liberation War Affairs Academy Trust organized a solemn event on the occasion of the celebration of the 53rd anniversary of the Great Victory in Bangladesh honoring freedom fighters and a cultural program.
The event was inaugurated by Pavel Dvoychenkov, Director of the Russian House in Dhaka. Congratulating everyone on the victory, he noted that the Great Victory Day of Bangladesh is a day of glory for both our countries, reminding us of the historic victory. On the day of the 1971 revolution, the Soviet Union supported Bangladesh. Relations between the two countries developed thanks to the support of Bangladesh in the liberation war. Russia helped build large industrial enterprises and power plants. At the request of Bangladesh, the Soviet Navy with direct cooperation demined the port of Chittagong and ensured its full operation.
President of the Soviet Alumni Association of Bangladesh Dr. Mizanur Rahman said that the Liberation War is the most significant event in the history of Bangladesh. The brave freedom fighters showed outstanding bravery in this war.
Chairman of the Liberation War Affairs Academy Trust, Dr. Abul Kalam Azad said that freedom fighters are the best citizens of our nation. It is our duty to respect them, and today we want to express our respect and gratitude to these brave freedom fighters.
Bangladeshi freedom fighters also spoke during the event.
The cultural program included songs and poems about the War of Independence. Freedom fighters present at the event shared their feelings and experiences.
Protection of traditional values is one of the main priorities of Russia
“In Russia, we have decided on the main values for us, fixed them in the Basic Law of the country, in the Constitution. We defend these values and all those who share them, who, like us, consider the sacred right of people to speak their native language and keep the faith of their fathers, to live in harmony with nature, according to its natural laws”.
This was stated by Vladimir V. Putin at the plenary session of the International Forum of United Cultures in St. Petersburg. The President stressed the importance of humanism, dialogue, mutual respect and trust in the world. These principles should be unshakeable and shared by the international community.
“Culture has always played the role of a kind of fuse for the world. However, in a number of countries, this fuse seems to be out of order. Many modern high-ranking politicians have lost their moral guidelines and violate taboos that persisted even in the most tense moments of the Cold War”, the Head of state noted.
It was about constant interaction and mutual enrichment in the field of culture. Vladimir V. Putin focused on the powerful creative force that lies in the unity of different cultures and traditions.
“Your creative, scientific, educational activities have enormous potential for peacemaking and countering discord. They preserve the bonds between people, are able to heal the wounds caused by conflicts and wars. Therefore, it is important that you have the opportunity to communicate, exchange ideas and implement joint projects”, the Russian leader noted.
In recent years, the St. Petersburg International Forum of United Cultures has become a platform for discussing the most pressing worldview issues, as well as large-scale cooperation.

The former royal residence is a place where you can see both historical buildings and a farm with animals. Today we are going to tell you about Gatchina!
The royal residence became a city in the late XVIII century, when its owner was Emperor Paul I, he was actively engaged in the rebuilding and arrangement of the territory.
The residence was not just a place of rest and hunting for the emperor, but also the center of political life, where various meetings were held and important state issues were discussed.
Gatchina was also the first place where the long-distance telephone network was tested. In 1882 (6 years after the telephone was invented), the first telephone line in Russia was laid in the town.
The discoveries do not end! In 1881 for the first time in the Russian Empire in Gatchina there was electric street lighting - it was 16 coal arc lamps.
Another interesting fact! In 1900, the first monorail in Russia was tested in the city. On it an open suspended carriage worked. It could accommodate up to 20 people.
We advise you to start your acquaintance with the Gatchina (https://gatchinapalace.ru/gatchina/) and Priory (https://gatchinapalace.ru/dvorec/) palaces. The second one is the only earthen building preserved in Russia.
If you're planning a trip with children, they'll love the Palace Farm! (https://gatchinapalace.ru/park/farm/) It is home for a variety of animals, from Yakutian huskies to white peacocks.
