Proverbs 12:10 KJV
[10] The tender mercies of the wicked are cruel.
This guy isn't even on the meat, and so he doesn't understand the morality of the Bible.
Hebrews 5:13-14 KJV
[13] For every one that useth milk is unskilful in the word of righteousness: for he is a babe. [14] But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.
Unlike what David Benjamin teaches, the meat of the word isn't preaching the Gospel to yourselves over and over again. The meat is to discern good and evil and to understand God's Commandments.
Now, what does the Bible say about loving your neighbor?
Leviticus 19:17-18 KJV
[17] Thou shalt not hate thy brother in thine heart: thou shalt in any wise rebuke thy neighbour, and not suffer sin upon him. [18] Thou shalt not avenge, nor bear any grudge against the children of thy people, but thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself: I am the LORD.
So, it is loving to Rebuke your neighbor for sinning.
So, was Jesus not loving his neighbor? No, he was turning the other cheek.
Matthew 5:38-42 KJV
[38] Ye have heard that it hath been said, An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth: [39] but I say unto you, That ye resist not evil: but whosoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also. [40] And if any man will sue thee at the law, and take away thy coat, let him have thy cloke also. [41] And whosoever shall compel thee to go a mile, go with him twain. [42] Give to him that asketh thee, and from him that would borrow of thee turn not thou away.
Now, Jesus's commandment here CONTRADICTS the Law of Moses which says, "Eye for an Eye, Tooth for a Tooth." According to God's law, I am justified in defending myself and rebuking the people who come against me.
However, Jesus says that we should try to aim for a higher standard than the Law. To go beyond the bare minimum of waiting for them to punch you first before you punch back, and to not punch back at all.
The reason Jesus commands this is because God finds it admirable when people are able to restrain themselves and act with compassion towards the people that hurt them. However, this is not necessary to be a moral person. All that is necessary to be moral is to not be the aggressor.
Think of it like this, would you rather have one million dollars or one billion dollars? Obviously one billion. But would you be mad if you goet one million? By no means. Both are good, but one is better.
In the same way, God would rather us turn the other cheek when people attack us, but he's fine with us defending ourselves.
Finally, the people I've been attacking in the posts referenced aren't my personal enemies, but people that are hurting the whole body of Christ. Because of this, it is a SIN for me to turn the other cheek. I MUST attack them or else I would be immoral.
They cry out in pain while they strike you.
Like they keep saying I'm slandering them, then they will literally PROVE MY POINT.
If "True Faith" is needed for Salvation and "True Faith" requires Works or else it's not "True Faith", then you believe in Works Salvation.
It's Simple Logic:
"True Faith" = Salvation
"True Faith" = Good Works
Good Works = Salvation
If, A=C, and B=C, we can therefore conclude that A=B.
The best proof of Christianity is the Resurrection of Jesus. If Jesus really came back to life after dying, then whatever he said about the afterlife must be true as he is the only one to go there. But did he really rise from the dead? Here's a few arguments based on things which Non-Christian scholars accept as true:
We know Jesus died a death by Crucifixion. In the Bible, the description given of the Crucifixion is extremely accurate. This shows that the people writing the Bible were living in the same time as Jesus as well as the same location.
Women were the first people to discover his resurrection which at the time would have been embarrassing as a womans testimony at that time was considered to be untrustworthy. If they were lying, why would they make up a lie that would make them look bad and make their story less believable? Historians have a rule of thumb which is, if somebody tells you something good about themselves, they are more likely to be lying. If they tell you something bad about themselves, they're always telling the truth. Nobody lies to make themselves look worse.
Jesus was claimed to have visited 500 people after his death and was recorded being able to eat, drink and have long in depth conversations. This shows that they could not have been hallucinating. It also shows that they were being visited by the real Jesus. If it was a fake, they would have recognized him.
His followers endured immense persecution for what they were teaching about Jesus. They were being tortured and killed. If they made it up, why didn't they just admit it to be spared the suffering? This shows that they must have had immense proof for their Christian teachings. Almost like they saw him rise from the dead?
Even people who hated Jesus were converted because they saw him coming back from the dead and then endured persecution because they wouldn't "admit" it was made up. This shows they seriously saw something unexplainable by natural means. Like a dead man coming back to life.
You can be Forgiven. Many people will tell you that if you just go to a church, talk to a priest, you'll be forgiven. But that's not what the Bible says. People say try to be a good person to make up for your bad deeds. That's not what the Bible says. What the Bible says is that God saw the state of humanity, and had compassion for us in spite of our sins. So he decided to come to earth in the form of a man named Jesus. And Jesus was born into the world as a peasant child, and grew up experiencing life as a true human, experiencing the temptation to sin, sadness, grief, anger. But despite all of this, he struggled to do the thing that nobody did, and ultimately stayed away from sin. And when Jesus was about 30 years old, he started traveling, preaching to people this message that all have sinned and deserve hell, but that God is willing to forgive us. That God still wants us. But this angered the religious people of his time because they were offended at what he said. They couldn't believe that their Religious Rituals, going to synagogue every Saturday, giving to the poor and all that they did, that it wasn't enough to make God love them. So they killed Jesus for being a blasphemer against God. This should have been the end of the story. People should have forgotten about Jesus, but 3 days after he died and was buried, Jesus came back to life. Him, in his physical body walked up out of his grave. This miracle proved that everything that he taught was true, that he really did come from God, that all people are condemned, but that people can be forgiven. Jesus taught one final lesson, he told his students that an even greater miracle than his Resurrection, was his death. He told them that when he was hanging on the cross, God performed a miracle. God placed all of the sins you have committed, I have committed, and the world has committed, were placed on Jesus. And when Jesus died, the sins of the world died with him. He told his disciples to go out and tell the world what happened. He said to tell the world that all people who trust in what he did on the cross will be forgiven for their sins, and God will raise them from the dead just like he was.
