ولَوْ شاءَ عُمَر بن الخطاب [رضي الله عنه] أن يُناظِر صَبِيغًا ويجمع له أصحاب رسول الله ﷺ حتى يُناظروه ويُحاجّوه ويُبَيِّنوا له لَفَعَل، ولكنه قَمَع جَهْلَه، وأوجَع ضَرْبَه، ونفاه في جلده، وتركه يقتصُّ بريقه ويقطع عليه خُزَّازُ بين ظهرَيْه، طَريدًا شريدًا لا يُكلِّم، ولا يُجالِس، ولا يُشْفى بالحُجَّة والنظر، بل تركه يقتصُّ على حَركته ولم يُلبِّه رفقه، ومَنَعَ الناس من كلامه ومجالسته. فهكذا حُكْم كل مَن شَرَع في دين الله بما لم يأذن الله: أن يُخبَر أنه على ضَلالَة وبِدْعَة يُحْذَر منه، ويُنهى عن كلامه ومُجالسته.

If Umar ibn al-Khattab [may Allah be pleased with him] had wanted to debate with Sabiigh and gather for him the Companions of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ so they could debate with him, refute him, and clarify for him, he would have done so. But instead, he suppressed his ignorance, disciplined him with a severe beating, exiled him, and left him to deal with his own distress and isolation. He became a fugitive and outcast—neither spoken to nor engaged with, nor given clarity through argument or debate*. Rather, he was left to suffer his isolation, while others were forbidden from engaging with him or sitting in his company.

This is the ruling for anyone who introduces something into the religion of Allah without Allah’s permission: they are to be warned about as being upon misguidance and innovation, avoided, and prohibited from their speech and company*ٱلطَّاجِيكِي

إن لم تَكُن قَمَرًا يُضيء للنَّاس دربهم، فكُن نجمةً تدلهم على الدَّرب. أبو سُليمان

إن لم تَكُن قَمَرًا يُضيء للنَّاس دربهم، فكُن نجمةً تدلهم على الدَّرب.

*Allah High is He commands,

"O you who believe! Take your precautions, and go forth either in parties, or go forth all together." [An- Nisa': 71]

So it is clear that Allah has ordered us to take precaution (Hithr) before His Commandment to go forth.

He Glorified is He also commanded,

"But take (every) precaution for yourselves. Verily for the infidels, Allah has prepared a humiliating punishment."

[An-Nisa': 102]

So taking precautionary steps (Asbab) and being careful, and likewise Kitmān (concealment and secrecy), is a legislated (Mashrū) matter in our Din Rather, in many occasions it is obligatory (Wajib).*ٱلطَّاجِيكِي

جاء في ﻳﻮﺣﻨﺎ ﺭﺅﻳﺎ 3:21: "مَنْ يَنْتَصِرُ سَأُعْطِيهِ أنْ يَجْلِسَ مَعِي عَلَى عَرشِي..."

جاء في كتاب السنة للإمام عبد الله: حدثتا أحمد بن إبراهيم حدثني علي بن الحسن بن شقيق قال: سمعت عبد الله بن المبارك يقول: "إنا نستجيز أن نحكي كلام اليهود والنصارى ولا نستجيز أن نحكي كلام الجهمية."
