Denis Villeneuve has confirmed that work on the script for “Dune 3” has already begun

The third installment of Denis Villeneuve's epic sci-fi saga is officially in production - the director has confirmed that work on the script for “Dune 3” has already begun.
“We're working on it, yes. That's why I'm here for a while,” Villeneuve said when asked by Variety reporters if the script for the third installment was already ready during the Toronto Film Festival. This is the biggest update on the status of the movie since it was officially announced earlier this year.

Almost nothing is known about the third movie yet, but we do know that it will be an adaptation of Frank Herbert's novel “Dune: Messiah,” just as the first two movies were based on Herbert's book “Dune.”

“Dune: Messiah” deals with the aftermath of Paul Atreides' actions in the second installment. There is no release date yet.

“Beetlejuice Beetlejuice” had a successful launch on its first weekend

The first weekend of September proved successful for the movie “Beetlejuice Beetlejuice,” which broke records at the box office.

The horror-comedy from Warner Bros. and Tim Burton, the sequel to the cult film, grossed $145.4 million worldwide. Variety reports that most of those collections came from the U.S., where the movie started its run with $110 million. That's the second-highest September debut of all time, behind the 123 million collected by “It” in 2017 (and just above the sequel's collections, which earned $91 million in 2019). 2024's Beetlejuice Beetlejuice ranks as the third highest-grossing opening weekend box office movie of all time, behind only Deadpool and Wolverine with $211.4 million and Puzzle 2 with $154.2 million.

Brad Pitt and George Clooney could star in “Ocean's Fourteen Friends”

It looks like the Danny Ocean's story isn't over yet. Multiple sources have reported that George Clooney and Brad Pitt will return to their roles in the fourth installment of the Ocean's Eleven franchise.

The director could be Edward Berger, who has “On the Western Front Without Change” and “Conclave” behind him, which was very warmly received by critics, a new “Bourne” installment in the future and rumors of a Bond film. But right now it's too early to talk about anything, the movie is still far from production and the return of all the actors.

First reviews for “Joker: Madness for Two” are 54/100 from critics

“Joker: Madness for Two,” the sequel to one of the biggest movies of 2019, is set to be released in a month, but critics have already gotten a chance to post their early reviews - and the results were broadly similar - average. Despite the return of Joaquin Phoenix and the involvement of Lady Gaga, the movie failed to replicate the success of the first installment.

James Gunn has announced the release of the second season of The Peacemaker for late 2025 - it will follow the events of the Superman movie

Despite the fact that the shooting of the second season of “The Peacekeeper” is already in full swing, James Gunn confirmed that the series will not be released until a year from now. Asked when we can expect the new season, the head of DC Studios said:

“2025, after Superman,” Gunn replied, which means that viewers won't see the series until the second half of next year at the earliest. This is because “Superman,” which will be the first major film of DC Studios' new era, will be released on July 11, 2025.

This isn't the first time Gunn has shared details about the return of the anti-hero played by John Cena. He has previously hinted at where the story of season two will begin:

Back in the summer, he wrote that the story would continue almost immediately after the events of the first season.
