The Woman Who Made Me Who I Am

When I think about the person who helped me become who I am, it’s my mom. She’s not just my mother—she’s my strength, my light, and my best friend. From the beginning, she filled my life with books, stories, and poems.

I remember her reading to me when I was little. Her voice brought the stories to life. She taught me poems, showed me how beautiful words can be, and how they can change the way we see the world. Adabiyot bu hayot, she would always say, and I truly believe it because of her.

Thanks to her, I grew up loving books and poetry. I loved reading poems out loud, sharing what I felt in every word. My love for writing, books, and seeing beauty in life—it’s all from her.

Those days I was feeling down. It was late, and I got a message from her. She had stayed up to write me a poem. It was a beautiful surprise, and it reminded me of how much she loves me.
