UC Berkeley is going through a rebranding. Historically, we were the most relevant university in California, so the shortened name of the state (“Cal”) always referred to UC Berkeley. However, managing 3 different identities on a global level is challenging and confusing to many so the administration wants to only keep the name “Berkeley”.

Alumni and students are mad about the new minimalistic design. I also think that the new logo looks cheap. What is your opinion?

I will also contribute to the community for free sometime in mid-June. I am currently devising the most efficient way to do that. Stay tuned.

On average, for every $1 dollar invested into my College Applications Support program last summer my students made $221.22 in scholarship money.

Office hours are one of the defining college experiences. Professor Fish has lived and worked in China, Soviet Russia, Tashkent, and Almaty. He has studied and worked at Johns Hopkins, Stanford, Yale, and UC Berkeley. I can feel how talking to a person of this scope of wisdom and experience about politics and life is shaping me as an individual too.

When I was sitting on a coach of the cabinet and looking at the walls that could pretty much describe Professor Fish’s political views, he got a call.
“Oh, they published it? The New York Times? Oh thank god”
He looked at me and smiled: “gotta promote the book before the election!”

Now I am waiting to buy that book to proudly claim that my Professor wrote it.
