We are very happy to invite you to our first guateke: "Deculonizate" that will take place on Friday, August 23 from 17:00 to 02:00 ??
18:30-20:00 Pablis (House/Ambient)
20:00-21:30 Mzngo (B'more House)
21:30-23:00 Pattt (Afrobeats, hip hop)
23:00: 00:30 Ecuajey (Descarga salsera)
00:30-02:00 dra_Kulo (Reggaeton-Perreo intenso)
Our talented DJs will delight us with different rhythms and guarantee hours of dancing and delight. To enjoy the evening, good company and music, we will bring delicious snacks (dorilocos), cocktails straight from la tierrita (Ronchata, Paloma and Piscosour/Piscola) and the spiked bolis/hielitos/chups/heladitos that are perfect for this summer ?
In our first edition of "deculonizate", we want to bring together the free bodies that dance regardless of the gaze that seeks to decree on our culas, those who accompany each other in the diaspora, weaving networks of care and community, and create alternative ways of inhabiting the "civilizational" disdain that runs through Leipzig ???
✨Event Highlights:
?14:00 - Movie Screening: "Where Olive Trees Weep"
A powerful documentary about Palestinian resilience under Israeli occupation. Follow stories of struggle, trauma, and the quest for justice, featuring voices like Ashira Darwish, Dr. Gabor Maté, Ahed Tamimi and Amira Hass.
??15:45 - Rubina (Dj Set)
Embark on an afrosurreal magic journey with music that inspires and uplifts.
?️17:00 - Talk: Culture as Resistance, Resistance as Culture
From the cultural intifada to the صمود (sumud/steadfastness) we talk about how cultural practices sustain resistance movements and foster resilience.
?19:00 - Community Meal and Fire Ritual
Join us by the fire in a ritual to process emotions and nurture social justice efforts. Share poems, songs, grief and rage in a ritual that embodies spirits as resistance. By reclaiming decolonized spaces of care, we honor our heritage and build foundations for sustainable activism. A settled body can co-regulate and support long-term resilience, while an unsettled body risks burnout.
Bring something meaningful to share — poems, music, literature, thoughts, or movement.
???20:00 - Kansi (Dj Set)
Songs of Resistance.
?21:00 - Yuvalgc
Yuval Gal Cohen, playing her heart on a ukulele. Accompanied by Owen Denney on Cello.
?☠️22:00 - Sharp Knives
Sharp Knives are a Lisbon based DIY anarcho-folk punk band.
Transposing our hopes, fears, doubts, frustrations, inconsistencies & dreams to words, screaming them out loud as self-empowerment, travelling and playing, they hope to create an affinity network of friends, while standing together against all forms of authority, coercion & oppression.
??23:00 - Rue (Dj Set)
Close the night with hip-hop, reggaeton, and Arabic beats.
✌?Funds raised at this event will support the The Popular Struggle Coordination Committee. ??
About the PSCC:
The Popular Struggle Coordination Committee (PSCC) represents community-based resistance through strikes, protests, and collective actions. It supports Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions (BDS) and provides legal aid, communication, and advocacy for activists. The PSCC strengthens Palestinian communities against Zionist land grabs and settler violence by empowering local grassroots initiatives.
With a new youth-led board elected in January 2023, the PSCC puts Palestinian youth at the center of the popular struggle, ensuring the movement remains active, independent, and transparent.
Let's come together to watch, eat, create, share and dance. Together, we can transform grief into hope and build a stronger, more resilient and more defiant community!

•Bar Night•
In our next bar night we will bring a salsa descarga. Salsa was consolidated in the Afro-Latin diaspora in the United States inspired by the rhythms of resistance, Cuban son, son montuno, chachachá, which persist throughout the Abya Yala. Salsa was born from the need of the Latin American diaspora to deepen their roots and combine them with their present in contexts hostile to migration ?
Salsa will allow us to bring the events and themes that have crossed our continent: the African influence of struggle, slavery, peasant life, everyday life in big cities, religion, urban and rural daily life, dance, love…
We invite you to listen together to the rhythms, melodies and salsa lyrics that have accompanied many of us in the ups and downs of our migration ??
We will offer the best Abyayalero cocktails with a surprise included ??
The collected money will go to a Colombian person facing institutional racism and difficult migration conditions in Chile ?
We are looking forward to seeing you!
This May 1st our priority is to centralize life, confronting the war discourses that appear more frequently in Germany. This May 1st we want to demand peace with justice for the people repressed and violated by the calling of war from which this country profits; a calling in which death is the currency that generates profit and, at the same time, mitigates the internal crisis, inflation and the rising costs of living in Germany.
Noticing the absence of critical speech and action aiming at dismantling the colonization of our territories, our bodies and our (re-)production, we aim at (re-)building community bases on which we can situate our re-existence, creating welfare by and for (post-)migrants by strengthening alternatives and subverting the webs of ways of thinking and doing that are built on the "other" in this context ?
Join us at the Graffitiwand in the Rabet at 15:00 for a 1M from beneath, from the margins,
for a 1M towards self-determination, autonomy and the defense of life ????

With the intention of continuing the tradition of our monthly meetings in the east of Leipzig, we invite you this Thursday to our second bar night of the year?
On this bittersweet date we commemorate 6 years since the Nicaraguan uprising on April 18, 2018 against the Ortega - Murillo dictatorship, which has abruptly abused its presidential authority oppresing the inalienable rights and freedom of Nicaraguans - while also recognizing and solemnizing their struggle and strength ?
With the intention of keeping the flame of resistance burning, we welcome you this 18.04.2024 at the @nebenan_leipzig - with Nicaraguan music and some works from the Expo - Forum: "(Des)Esperanza: Different stages of Nicaraguans in Grief" held in memory of the 5 years last April 18, 2023.
Clearly neither cocktails nor snacks Abya Yaleros can’t be missed?
Muchas gracias @nebenan_leipzig for giving us the space?
See you?

We invite you to our first solidarity event of 2024. On Friday, January 19th we will be accompanying a compi from Chile, who will be raising money to support the medical treatment and surgery of her mother who is in Chile.
In Latin America, access to quality medical treatment is mediated by the amount of money each person has. In many countries of our continent, health is not a right, but a private service that benefits insurers, hospitals, pharmaceutical companies and doctors, for whom illness is the path to profit. Contrary to this, we appeal to the solidarity networks by the people for the people. And, on this occasion, we call on these networks in Leipzig, where solidarity continues to organize and create ties both in Germany and in Abya Yala.
To profit through our rights, we respond with delicious completos ??
To privatization, we respond with sopaipillas and pebre ???
To the indifference of health institutions, we respond with perreo (& more when azulado puts it)?
We are looking forward to seeing you!
