*Punishments Of A Sinner

Ibn al-Qayyim رحمه الله: The punishments of a sinner are as follows;
• Being deprived of Islamic knowledge (‘Ilm)
• Feeling of alienation in the heart
• Physical weakness
• Being unable to do acts of worship
• Being deprived of blessings
• Turning away from Allāh
• Anxiety
• Getting comfortable with sins
• The sinner becomes insignificant in the sight of Allāh
• The sinner becomes insignificant in the sight of people
• The curse of the animals will be upon him
• The sinner will bear marks of humiliation
• His heart will be sealed and he will come under the curse (of Allāh)
• The sinner’s Du’ā is not answered
• Loss of Gheerah (protective jealousy)
• Loss of modesty (Ḥayā)
• The blessings of Allāh disappear
• Punishment will befall him
• Fear in the heart of the sinner
• Falling into the traps of Shayṭān
• A bad end in worldly life (Dunyā)
• Torment in grave
• Punishment in the Hereafter

**✒ Allāh Does Not Return Raised Hands Empty 🤲🏻***

Prophet Muḥammad Ṣallallāhu-‘Alaihi Wa Sallam said:

إن الله رحيم حيي كريم يستحي من عبده أن يرفع إليه يديه ثم لا يضع فيهما خيرا

“Indeed, Allāh is Most Merciful, Shy, Generous, He is Shy that His slave raises his hands to Him then He does not place anything of Khayr (goodness) in them.”

**✒ Two Greeds That Harm A Man's Deen*

Prophet Muḥammad Ṣallallāhu-ʿAlaihi Wa Sallam said:

ما ذئبان جائعان أرسلا في غنم بأفسد لها من حرص المرء على المال والشرف لدينه

“Two hungry wolves sent among a flock of sheep are NOT MORE destructive to them than a person's GREED for WEALTH and FAME are to his RELIGION.”

*Ibn al-Qayyim (رحمه الله) mentioned that there are 6 times in which the du’ā of an individual is accepted:

• The last 3rd of the night
• At the time of the Ādhān
• Between the Ādhān & the Iqāmah
• After the 5 daily prayers
• When the Imām climbs the Mimbar on Friday
• The final hour of Friday*

*Ibn al-Qayyim رحمه الله:

“There is a connection between the eyes and the heart — whatever one of them engages in, the other will engage in. When one is good, the other will be good; when one is corrupt, the other will be corrupt. If the heart is corrupt, the eyes will be corrupt, and if the eyes are corrupt, the heart will be corrupt. His heart becomes like a dunghill, which is the place of filth and impurities.

Consequently, his heart is not suitable to house knowledge of Allāh, love for Him, devotion towards Him, and happiness from nearness to Him. It is only suitable to house its opposite.”
