We feel that early on we may have misrepresented some of the difficulties of our disorder in how we talked about it and there's a surprising amount of vitriol out there over fakers, though very little has gotten directed at us.

We are a complex system of over 400 members, it is large enough we can't keep track of it anymore. They are arranged into teams and most feel a lack of identity. They are variants of our body or silhouettes or random creatures or people. They don't often come with fursonas or some ideal they enjoy-- instead, we encourage members of the system with dysphoria to design themselves a self image they can be happy with-- which is what all furries do with their sonas, we just happen to be multiple people that need multiple sonas. Our headmates that have designed sonas for themselves find it therapeutic, and often their internal friends and aspects will follow along and choose variants of them

It is a tender mercy in the horrors of identity confusion and chaos that we can make anchors for ourselves to hold onto

There are many in the system who do not have the time energy or knowledge or frequency of being around to design themselves a meaningful character. Most hold only memories or pain.

In the long term we hope we can fuse down to 30~ headmates or so to make navigating the system more manageable. At the moment it is layered, labyrinthian, and overwhelming. We find parts often who do not know who or where we are.

It can look like having a bunch of characters but the day to day really is being horribly disabled, forgetting everything, intense stress and depression, and a lot of other symptoms I'm not comfortable putting out into the world. It is teaching ourselves the same thing dozens of times again and again so we leave none in the dark

When I post up a new character design belonging to a headmate it is just art therapy and nature healing slowly.
