Is there anything better than popping open a couple of jars of home canned tomatoes? The perfect thing on a January day... Who else is counting down till spring? These and the shallots/ garlic are going into the tomato soup tonight w/ brioche grilled cheese.

To make this soup I saute shallots and garlic in 4 tbsp butter

Then add two quarts home canned tomatoes, 1 tbsp sea salt, 2 cups homemade chicken stock, 1 cup heavy cream, 1 tsp dried basil, and about 1/2 cup bleu cheese...

Very gently simmer while stirring for about 10 to 15 minutes on low... then puree...

The old farm page w/ nearly 2000k followers was unexpectedly deleted by Facebook this week.
