November 25th, marks the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women, a significant day observed worldwide to raise awareness and take action to prevent and end violence against women and girls.

? ?The purple ribbon, a symbol of this campaign, represents courage, survival, and hope for a violence-free world. This day was officially declared by the United Nations in 1999, inspired by the sacrifice of the Mirabal sisters from the Dominican Republic, who stood against oppression and injustice.

? It also begins the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence, an annual global campaign aimed at creating a safer and more equitable world.
