An update on my cafe friends, because I haven't mentioned them in a while.

Cafe Daughter doesn't work at the cafe anymore, but Cafe Mom does. They've had some turnover and have some new employees, and Cafe Mom introduces me to all of them. So sweet. It's fun being a regular, and it comes with perks. I often get to skip the line because they always already know what I want.

Good morning! My media fast will begin as soon as I post this message. I will return on January 24th, my 48th birthday.

As a reminder, I will not be looking at or responding to messages except from family and a very short list of friends who might as well be family.

My comments and the community within them are still open, and my wonderful admins are still present and keeping the spam at bay.

May your transition into 2025 be gentle. Merry/Happy whatever you celebrate (or don't) at this time of year. I love you, and I look forward to sharing pictures of whatever happens in my life while I'm gone.

Yesterday I was waiting in the lobby of the building where my therapist's office is. There's a smallish aquarium in the corner. Maybe 25 gallon?

A couple of old men who probably have offices in the building were looking at the aquarium. One of them was commenting that there was a fish in the aquarium that he thought might be pregnant, and he was concerned. He said he'd been keeping an eye on her for a week.

It was just so pure. These older businessmen discussing the well-being of this possibly pregnant fish. So sweet.
