Happy Fourth, Hoosiers!

Many young American men with traditional, reactionary, or otherwise dissident feelings are tempted with a perverse and self-hating desire to disown much of American history and many American founding fathers.  It's true that many of them had Liberal ideals and were members of Freemasonry, which we traditional Christians consider an inauthentic and often subversive tradition.  But St. Paisios of Mount Athos reminds us that we should be bees, seeking honey, and not flies hovering over manure.  We have a responsibility to find and champion the best in things: especially in our own land.  We christened Caesar — we can christen Washington and others, who we know to be virtuous and great men, no matter what errors they may have made, as Caesar himself had many. We will eschew the bad but build on the good - Pro Patria.

Saturday 5.25.24, Indiana Christian Conscience brothers gathered to help clean up the homestead of a beloved clergyman in order for more farming to be possible there again. Spring is, after all, the time for renewal.

We struggle against the selfish and indolent spirit of this age — by the sweat of our brows we will become better men, and thereby serve our communities, our Church, and our State!

Monday, the Indiana Christian Conscience was proud to march alongside fellow Hoosiers in our state capitol, celebrating the protection of life on the 51st anniversary of the decision of Roe v. Wade. Two years after its overturning, we are proud that Indiana has been a leader in the pro-life movement, abolishing the practice of abortion in our beloved state.

Much anticipated Christian Conscience Conference was held this weekend by our New England brothers. There were a few speakers and many eager attendees. New Martyr Patriarch Tikhon, friend to Tsar Nicholas II, liked American Thanksgiving, referring to it as "Turkey Day". He arranged a moleben service for the eve of Thanksgiving. St Tikhon was deeply moved that the country he served as a Bishop for 9 years had set aside a national day of giving thanks. The Hierarch would never forget this holiday even when returning to Imperial Russia. He even sent a Thanksgiving letter to President Wilson in 1918.

The name Christian Conscience calls to mind the fact that our outward lives are reflections of our interior spiritual lives. For love of God and love of our land, we seek to cultivate a spirit of sacrifice, a spirit of integrity, a spirit of love, for a reawakening of a Christian Conscience in our state.
