"RED PILLED RAMBLERS" Walk -  Sunday, 1st September 2024. Meeting from 10.00am for a prompt 10.30am start.
Kathryn & Malcolm, Stand in the Park, Preston & Community Assembly of Lancashire have arranged a 8 1/2 mile walk. Starting from Hest Bank foreshore car park Grid Reference SD 468 667. The Shore Cafe post code opposite the car park is LA2 6HW which opens at 10.00am for tea, coffee etc. NB: Need to cross the railway level crossing to access the car park.
Our fourth walk this Summer will be canal towpaths, minor roads and foreshore walking with a height gain of 375 feet.
We will be stopping for lunch and refreshments at the "Brief Encounter Refreshment Room", Carnforth Railway Station. Please bring packed lunch, if required.
Refreshments after the walk are at "The Crossing" (micro pub) 6 Coastal Road, Hest Bank located adjacent to the railway crossing.

This is a 6 mile, easy, circular walk from beautiful Bowden Village to Dunham Massey Deer Park with a return via the Bridgewater Canal after a short stop at the Swan with Two Nicks pub.

Bring a packed lunch and some liquid refreshment for a lunch stop halfway round.

Dogs are welcome on short leads?

Kids welcome, too, but they don't have to be on leads?

We will meet outside The Didsbury Pub at 10.15 am for first foot forward at 10.30 am.

There is free street parking along Stenner Lane adjacent to the pub and free parking in the pub.

The nearest toilets are in the pub.

Kids and dogs welcome.

Anita is an amateur herbalist and mycologist. Not an expert, so consume the mushrooms at your own risk. I use the Picture Mushroom App on my phone.

We will have a wonder around Fletcher Moss Park, Gardens and Woods, and see what we can forage. Anita can identify wild herbs and instruct you how to make balms, tinctures, etc.

A suggested voluntary donation of £3 per person would be nice to cover Anita's time and travel expenses.

Gareth Icke will be speaking at Buxton Freedom Hub at The Old Clubhouse Pub on Friday 26th January 2024 at 7 pm. Free entry. Donations to help with travel expenses welcome.

I will lead a short 2 mile town heritage trail walk on Friday 26th January at 2 pm and a longer 8 mile walk on Saturday 27th January at 10.15 am, if there is enough interest. Both walks will start from outside the main entrance of The Palace Hotel.

We will meet outside the main entrance of The Palace Hotel at 10.15 am for first foot forward at 10.30 am.

Bring a packed lunch and some liquid refreshment for a lunch stop half way round.

Free parking is available in nearby streets.

Buxton train station is nearby if you prefer to get the train.

Toilets are available in The Palace Hotel and Pools Cavern visitor centre where there is also a cafe.

Dogs are welcome on short leads?

This is a moderate, slow paced 8 mile walk starting from The Palace Hotel and visiting The Pavilion Gardens, Saint Annes Well, Pools Cavern and Solomon's Temple via Buxton Country Park.

Post walk pub for a drink/meal/chat will be The Old Club House. 1 Water St, Buxton SK17 6XN. I recommend the Fish n Chips ?
