"The continuation of the military operation launched by the occupation against the West Bank governorates for the seventh consecutive day, and the occupation’s focus of its aggression on Tulkarem again, will not succeed in stopping the flow of resistance despite the occupation’s brutality and ongoing aggression.

As we mourn the martyrs who ascend daily in the proud West Bank, who have exceeded 30 martyrs since the beginning of the military operation, we affirm that this pure blood will not go in vain, and that it will increase the pace of resistance, the continuation of its qualitative operations, and the state of escalating anger in all parts of the homeland.

US/Israeli intelligence and media cannot make their minds up about Gaza’s Yahya Sinwar: Is he hiding underground or dressed up as a woman?

Citing unnamed US and Israeli sources, a New York Times report published on 25 August claims that shortly after 7 October, intelligence officials from both countries “set up a special unit” in Israel’s Shin Bet headquarters dedicated exclusively to trying to intercept Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar’s communications in order to locate him. The CIA also set up a task force, as the US has devoted “considerable effort and resources to the Israelis … for the hunt for the top leadership, particularly Sinwar.” The report says Sinwar “abandoned electronic communications” long ago and instead relies on a network of “human couriers.”

While the NYT report estimates that Sinwar must “occasionally come out of the tunnels,” the other recent story making the rounds is that Sinwar has “left the tunnels” and walks around Gaza in broad daylight “dressed as a woman,” according to a Yedioth Ahronoth report published one day later. The reason cited in the report is that Sinwar is “aware that Israeli technology can detect movement in tunnels,” and therefore does not spend more than 24-36 at a time underground.

❗️Gaza City Municipality (2/2):

○ The municipality reported that the pond water had mixed with large quantities of sewage water and that the drainage line was severely damaged, posing a danger of the contaminated water flooding into the surrounding areas and homes.

○ A contract has been signed to begin the necessary reparations on the drainage line, however the work is contingent on Israel allowing the entry of equipment into the strip to begin the implementation of the project.

○ Gaza's Municipality has also been calling for urgent maintenance to be carried out on sewage systems in areas across the strip.

❗️Axios citing Israeli officials:

○ Israeli negotiating team told Netanyahu that reaching an agreement based on the current positions is not possible.

○ Members of the negotiating team asked Netanyahu for room to maneuver to reach an agreement, but he refused and rebuked them.

○ Netanyahu accepted the updated proposal that includes some of his new demands, knowing that Hamas would reject it.
