Today is the last day to sign up for the writing marathon that starts very soon.

I am also thinking of starting a new full online IELTS course (with all skills) because of the number of inquiries lately. It will probably be an intensive 2-month course.

My offline courses will start on September 5th and 6th, with groups for those taking IELTS for the first time and people retaking it (7+) ?

I am finalizing all details of the course, such as the number of lessons, mock tests and some bonuses (you know I am a generous man) ?

Normally, we offer 3 lessons a week, with a duration of 80 to 120 minutes.

There will hopefully be one intensive group too (5 lessons a week) ⚡️

Usual lesson times for standard groups are 14:00, 16:00 and 18:00, though, maybe, we can find a suitable slot in the morning as well.

By the way, another student of mine had the credit card topic today on a CD test ? Do not ignore the essays and articles in this channel since you never know what topic you can get on the test. It may be the one you hate the most. Other CD topics from today…

And when it comes to EoR (appealing), I also have some numbers in case you want to see what’s realistically the percentage of failure and success (based on my exams).

So, the total number of times I appealed is 8.

I won four and lost four. Most of the time, I wanted to see speaking and/or writing score change but there was one time I experimented with reading. I thought the reading score would change but it didn’t (silly me, I should’ve known that computers don’t really make mistakes like that).

Interestingly, there was only one time when my writing score changed after an appeal, however, it was a nice change (from 7.0 to 8.0) ✅ My speaking score from that same test also changed from 7.5 to 8.5 ?

On three other occasions (separate exams), it was my speaking score changing from 8.0 to 8.5 ✅

Basically, I can say there’s a 50-55% chance one of your scores may change (if you truly believe in the quality of your performance); but there’s only 10-15% chance scores for two sections may change, which is a very low probability, of course.

But please note that these numbers are based on my experience and observations (before any hate messages arrive).

By the way, with regard to the “native speaker vs non-native speaking examiner” debate, I can provide interesting stats ⬇️

The lowest score I got over the last 3 years is 7.5 given by a non-native examiner (later changed to 8.5 thanks to an EoR)

The 9.0s came from four native examiners and only one non-native examiner (who gave me a 9.0 twice, meaning she interviewed me on two different occasions).
