አለም አቀፍ የሰብአዊ መብቶች ተሟጋቾች ቀን በአለም አቀፍ ደረጃ የሰው ልጆች መሰረታዊ ክብር እንዲሁም ሰብዓዊ መብቶች እንዲጠበቁ እና እንዲረጋገጡ በቁርጠኝነት እና በሙያዊ ፅናት እየተጉ ያሉ የሰብዓዊ መብቶች ተሟጋቾችን በማሰብ በአለም አቀፍ ደረጃ ተከብሮ ይውላል፡፡ ግጭቶች፣ መፈናቀል እንዲሁም ዘርፈ ብዙ ችግሮች ባሉባት በሃገራችን ኢትዮጵያ ለሲቪክ ምኅዳሩ ወሳኝ የሆኑ ሃሳብን በነጻነት የመግለጽ፣ የመደራጀት፣ እና የመሰብሰብ መብቶችን የሚገድቡ ፈተናዎችን  ለመታገል የመብት ተሟጋቾች ሚና  የላቀ ነው፡፡      

ይህንን የተሟጋቾች ቀን በማስመልከት መንግስት ማህበራዊ እኩልነትን፣ ፍትህና ተጠያቂነትን በማስፈን ረገድ የመብቶች ተሟጋቾች የሚጫወቱትን ሚና በመገንዘብ ደህንነትና ጥበቃ በማረጋገጥ  ሃላፊነቱን እንዲወጣ አበክረን እንጠይቃለን። በተጨማሪም መንግስታዊ ያልሆኑ አካላት ፣ ህብረተሰቡ፣  እና የሲቪል ማህበረሰቦችን ጨምሮ ሌሎች የሚመለከታቸው አካላት ከሰብአዊ መብቶች ተሟጋቾች ጋር በአንድነት በመቆም ድምፃቸውን በማሰማት እና ሳይሰጉ ስራቸውን መከወን እንዲችሉ የበኩላቸውን ሃላፊነት ሊወጡ ይገባል፡፡  ለሰብአዊ መብቶች ተሟጋቾች የሚደረግ ጥበቃ የሁላችንም የሞራል ግዴታ ብቻ ሳይሆን ፍትሃዊ፣ እኩል እና ሰላማዊ ማህበረሰብ ለመገንባት አስፈላጊ ነው፡፡
