? NOVA Debate Camp 2024 - Registration is Open (online debate camp)!

NOVA is a completely FREE online camp. Camp was a success last year, with over 300 students in attendance.

? When?

This year, camp will be two virtual one-week sessions running from July 29th - August 2nd and August 5th - 9th, followed by a camp tournament. Camp will be from 12 PM - 4 PM EST each day, with optional office hours until 5 PM. It will offer lab-based instruction with lectures, office hours, and frequent practice rounds.

? Who will coach?

Their instructors so far this year have accumulated over 100 combined bids and have championed numerous tournaments such as Sunvite, the Mid America Cup, Durham, Georgetown, Pennsbury, and have consistently gone above and beyond at others, such as Yale, Emory, Glenbrooks, Bronx and Harvard to name a few.

? What makes NOVA unique?

NOVA is student-run, meaning it is by students, for students. Their instructors are current debaters who have an understanding of the circuit and can relate to many of the same experiences as their students. Once again, NOVA is a completely FREE camp. However, donations to the DC Urban Debate League are strongly encouraged.

'For any newcomers, the NA Spar organizes weekly debate practice rounds in the British Parliamentary (BP) style.

Every Friday, a form is sent out through which members can sign up to debate and judge. Allocations indicating partnerships, round times, etc. are then released every Sunday.

Don't have a partner? No problem! You can sign up as an individual or a team and if you sign up individually the spar admins will pair you with someone else who also did so.'

? Overview:
1️⃣ Debate Land anticipates a workload of 40-50 hours per month for the first few months,
2️⃣ You will be hired as an independent contractor (1099),3️⃣ As a circuit manager, you'll utilize our technology, along with email and phone comms, to collaborate with tournament directors, students, and NSD network members,

? Winter Debate Camp

? Outreach Debate is hosting a FREE Winter Debate Camp from December 26th- 30th at 7:00 PM EST to 10:30 PM EST (The timing is in the evening since Outreach Debate are welcoming their PF debate friends from Vietnam and internationally).

Their staff is nationally competitive and have gotten more than 20+ bids to the TOC, qualified to all three nationals, 6th spoke at the TOC, and have been ranked as high as Top 10 in the nation. Those that sign up and attend will get more than 100 pages on the January topic.

They are hosted camps for the past year, and each time, it has always served the community in a fun and engaging way to learn.
