Why do some members of the community act so aggressively toward any sort of theory crafting?

This question kind of goes for other communities as well honestly. Like rick and Morty has intentional clues and mysteries that are basically added for people to solve. Its disingenuous to pretend that there is nothing to look into or that its bad to do so. The show goes out of its way to validate it (until it decides its funny to shit on that part of the fan base of course) And this issue as said before extends to multiple other fandoms. It's like if someone made an adult reboot of a classic cartoon and then said reboot shits on its viewers for being adults who watch cartoons. Its fucking stupid.

Theory: Rick already told us what the show is really about.

Ok, so I’m really big on the Rick and Morty theories. I truly believe this show has a purpose, and nothing in it is by coincidence. However, I can’t help but think that when Rick mentioned the Mulan promotional sauce from McDonald’s being the series arc and him making up his origin story, that he was telling the truth, and ultimately the show is about Rick trying to get some Szechuan sauce lol.
