After Al-Hasan finished his morning remembrance he said:

**The world will not last for the living,

And the living will not last for the world.**

"ʿAbd al-Raḥmān b. Abī Laylá رحمه الله said: 'I have met one-hundred-and-twenty Companions of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ in this Masjid; none of them, when asked about a matter regarding a ḥadīth or a verdict, except they wished their peers answered instead (such that it eventually returned to the person who was originally asked).'

And then today the matter has reached a people who profess knowledge (and appraise themselves as scholars) – who readily present themselves for answering questions (that are so serious) that if these (same) questions (and matters) were presented to ʿUmar b. al-Khaṭṭāb, he would have gathered the warriors of Badr for consultation (before ever responding)."

Ibn al-Jawzi رحمه الله said:

"You would like to reach the loftiest ranks, though you have not taken one step upon the staircase of struggling and striving!

How is it that you wait for the harvest, when you have not planted any seeds?"
