Tranquility (al-Sakīnah) is the greatest need of the grieving, depressed, fearful, anxious, and distressed. Reflect deeply on this profound Quranic verse:
‘And invoke [O Prophet] Allah for them. Verily! Your invocations are a source of security for them, and Allah is All-Hearer, All-Knower’
(Quran translated meaning, 9:103).

The Prophet’s prayers (ṣalāt al-Nabī) bestowed upon them divine tranquility (al-Sakīnah)—the pinnacle of blessings a servant can attain.

Among the simplest yet mightiest paths to this tranquility is sending prayers upon the Prophet ﷺ.
As stated in an authentic Hadith: ‘Whoever prays for Allah's blessings upon me once, will be blessed for it by Allah ten times’.

O Lord, all praise and thanks belong to You. Most of our supplications during these blessed nights have been for our detainees and the oppressed among us. Praise be to Allah for answering—Yes, O Lord. We ask You to relieve the distress of every Muslim, to bring joy to the eyes of every reader, and to shower us and all Muslims with goodness, happiness, success, and contentment.

Glory be to You... Whoever truly senses Your nearness will never be disappointed "Indeed, I am near (to them by My Knowledge). I respond to the invocations of the supplicant when he calls on Me (without any mediator or intercessor)"
(Quran translated meaning, 2:186)

If a servant were to spend this noble night sending prayers and blessings (ṣalawāt) upon the Messenger of Allah ﷺ with a present heart and sincere intention, it would suffice him in place of much supplication (du‘ā’) and seeking forgiveness (istighfār).
