After intensive Israel airstrikes in southern Lebanon, the IDF publishes a list of guidelines for civilians in several communities and cities in northern Israel.
The guidelines apply to civilians in the Merom HaGalil Regional Council, Upper Galilee Regional Council, Mevo'ot HaHermon Regional Council, Yesud HaMa'ala, Hatzor, Rosh Pina, Safed, Metula, and towns in the Golan Heights from Katzrin and northward.
The IDF calls on civilians in those areas to reduce movement outside of homes, avoid large gatherings, guard the entrances to the community, and remain close to bomb shelters.
The guidelines are until further notice, the IDF says.
Israeli military officials will be presenting the political echelon, including Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, with various plans for the northern front during a meeting this evening, amid heightened tensions with Hezbollah.
IDF sources say the military seeks to achieve Israel's war goals in the north, returning the displaced Israelis back to their homes, but without causing the conflict to expand to a regional multi-front war.
The IDF has been on heightened alert following the recent events in Lebanon, and expects that the coming days may also be intense.
Israel has not taken responsibility for the Hezbollah communication devices that exploded in Lebanon in the past two days, killing 37 people, the vast majority of them terror operatives.
In the past 2-3 days, the IDF has been holding continuous assessments, and presenting plans to the political echelon. Earlier this evening, IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Herzi Halevi approved new battle plans.
So far, there have been no changes to guidelines for civilians, though the IDF has said it would update the public immediately if there are any developments.
Lebanese media report more than 50 airstrikes in the latest wave in southern Lebanon.
The IDF says it has located a short tunnel near a hospital in the West Bank city of Tulkarem, amid an ongoing counter-terrorism operation.
The tunnel had an entrance but no exit, the military says, indicating that it was still under construction.
The IDF says troops will investigate the tunnel and then destroy it.
The military resumed its major operation in the northern West Bank on Tuesday after a lull of a few days. The operation, dubbed "Summer Camps" was launched on August 28.
Since the operation resumed, the IDF says it has killed 10 gunmen in clashes and drone strikes.
A drone launched from Lebanon impacted in the Western Galilee an hour ago, the IDF says.
The military says that another drone launched at the Zar'it area was intercepted by air defenses.
There were no injuries in the attacks.
The IDF says a drone launched from Lebanon impacted an area in the Upper Galilee a short while ago.
"The target did not fall in any towns in the area," the military says.
Separately, two rockets were launched from Lebanon at the Misgav Am area. Both were intercepted by air defenses, the military says.
Another rocket launched from Lebanon at Snir struck an open area.
No injuries were caused in the attacks.
So far amid the IDF's major operation in the northern West Bank, troops have killed 36 gunmen and detained 46 wanted Palestinians, according to the military.
Additionally, the IDF says some two dozen weapons have been confiscated, three bomb-making labs have been destroyed, and dozens of explosive devices have been neutralized.
The IDF has been carrying out the major operation — internally dubbed “Summer Camps” — since August 28. It began with simultaneous raids on Jenin, Tulkarem and the Far’a camp near Tubas, with the goal of dismantling Iran-backed Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad terror networks in the three areas of the northern West Bank.
Several rockets launched from Lebanon at northern Israel around half an hour ago failed to cross the border, the IDF says.
Sirens had sounded in the border community of Hanita amid the attack, though all of the projectiles fell short in Lebanon.
One rocket was fired from Lebanon at the Upper Galilee around 40 minutes ago, setting off sirens in the communities of Elkosh and Fassuta, according to the IDF.
There are no injuries in the attack.
The body of an Israeli soldier who was killed and abducted by Hamas on October 7, was recovered by the military from the southern Gaza Strip overnight, the IDF announces.
At the request of the family, the soldier's name is not yet permitted for publication.
Following the overnight operation, 103 of the 251 hostages abducted by Hamas on October 7 remain in Gaza, including the bodies of 33 confirmed dead by the IDF.
Hamas released 105 civilians during a weeklong truce in late November, and four hostages were released before that. Eight hostages have been rescued by troops alive, and the bodies of 31 hostages have also been recovered, including three mistakenly killed by the military as they tried to escape their captors.
Hamas is also holding two Israeli civilians who entered the Strip in 2014 and 2015, as well as the bodies of two IDF soldiers who were killed in 2014.
