How to watch YouTube to learn English

🐳Tip 1🐳*
*Focus on the fragment of the video. 2 minutes maximum.

Don’t try to learn all the new words from a 15-minute-long vlog. It’s easy to get overwhelmed and stop doing anything at all.

🐳Tip 2🐳*
*Work with videos made for English speakers not learners.

The ones about “Learning English” do not count! Especially if they are partially in your first language. They are great in their own way but not for “into the wild” practice.

Plus, let’s be honest, they are often just yet another way to procrastinate instead of doing the hard work of actually changing your brain and improving your skills.

*Find the balance between having fun and learning.

You can just watch YouTube in English with captions without stopping to learn any words or doing any speaking exercises.

You can dig into every phrase, translate every single sentence and learn the script by heart.

Or you can find your perfect spot in between!
