a word about your friend pierre who's on the podium?

🆑: really happy for pierre, very happy for esteban as well & very happy for Alpine as a whole. it hasn’t been an easy season i often talk with pierre and esteban and they both deserve it.

they had an exceptional race with good strategic choices and even without that the pace was there. so i’m happy for them, i don’t know if they're going back home tonight but i wish for them to celebrate that!

frustrated yes and no because on one hand i think it could have been much worse with the mclaren which had great pace this weekend and at the end of the day the goal is the wcc so finishing ahead of the two mclarens is important

we did a better job than them but it’s not enough. it wasn’t a good weekend we weren’t as competitive as we wanted but we expected it a bit before the weekend we knew it was going to be complicated.

we knew that the RB would be very strong today but honestly I think today Max is the one making the difference rather than the RB. but they were stronger than us this weekend overall & mclaren was also much stronger than us this weekend.

we knew it was going to be difficult. in the wcc we only lost 4 points to mclaren and that’s what we're aiming for so overall it’s not that bad.

what’s the dominant feeling right now Charles?

🆑: it was really long there was a lot of strategic call to make, the first one sadly we made the wrong choice the team thought the gap was big enough to be ahead of Bearman & Hamilton.

🆑: the problem is that i ended up behind them and then there was a red flag and we lost a few positions there then we had to survive until the end of the race. we didn’t really have the pace of the century.

🆑: honestly i think we’re going to need to check the setup because it was very complicated today. the rear was impossible to keep. there was a lot of degradation so we’re going to take a look at that because it was clearly not optimal for those conditions.
