It's Sunday, January 19th 2025. The clock strikes 8:30 AM. The sun of October 8th is shining now and time just started moving again.

Good morning, Gaza.

Peace be upon your people. Peace be upon your wounds. Peace be upon the empty stomachs. Peace be upon the bones scattered in the streets, waiting to be buried.

A salute of gratitude to your heroes:
To the doctors, the nurses, the medical personnel who never abandoned their duties, working day and night in the most inhumane conditions to stitch, mend, and heal. Those who saw hospitals turned into battlefields —fought, burned, and bombed— becoming the most dangerous places in Gaza, yet refused to leave.

Salutations to the journalists who raised their voices above the thunder of bombings, until the genocide claimed 205 of their own. They remained in the field, unphased, undeterred, committed to spreading the truth.

To the civil defense teams who pulled survivors from beneath the rubble for 15 long months with their bare hands. Whose ambulances were targeted, shot, and bombed, but never stopped.

To the mothers of Gaza: we kiss the hands that cooked, held their loved ones, wiped away tears and blood, and rose in the cold of the night to murmur prayers—or scream them—until this day.

To our fathers, brothers, and sons who fought and wrote with their blood the most historic epics of our time. Who held the tents from flying in the cold winter, and put out fires when hospital courtyards were bombed.

Fifteen months have passed.

Good morning, Gaza. Good morning, soul of our soul.
I promise to dedicate the rest of my life to serve until your freedom.

Peace be upon the resistance that fought until victory. Peace be upon our blood spilled from South Lebanon to Jenin, from Iraq, Iran, and Yemen to you, Gaza—to your shores.

The war may end today, but the fight is far from over. We will return. We will rebuild. We will heal.

We will continue to tell the world the story of this small region that woke us on a Saturday morning to demand freedom for prisoners in colonial jails. The Flood which swept away all the world’s forces of evil who gathered to stifle a cry of freedom. Gaza, who fought on the behalf of humanity, with all that is good, against all that is evil.

We are one step closer to liberation.

Glory to the martyrs.
Healing to the wounded.
Freedom to our prisoners.
