Each year on the fourth Saturday of November, Ukraine and the world remember the tragedy of the Holodomor genocide. To honor the victims of the artificial famine orchestrated by the Soviet regime in Ukraine, the "Light a Candle" campaign is held.

? This year, Holodomor Remembrance Day falls on November 23, 2024.

The Holodomor of 1932-1933 has been recognized as genocide against the Ukrainian people by many countries and international organizations, including Germany as of November 2023.

? According to researchers at the Institute of Demography, at least 3.9 million people died as a result of the Holodomor.

Our candle on this day serves as a symbol of remembrance and a reminder to the world that genocide must never be repeated and the perpetrators should be confronted and brought to justice.

Cultural group Chervona Kalyna invites us to join the demonstration to mark 1000 days of full-scale war in Ukraine.
