The Ocean stared me
The ocean stared at me, vast and unmoving.
Its silence spoke louder than words ever could.
I stood there, waiting for an answer it would not give,
as if its waves carried truths I was not ready to face.
“I have seen them all,” the ocean finally said.
“I have carried the strong and consumed the weak.
I have swallowed the hopeful and cradled the lost.
I have been both a savior and a destroyer,
and yet, I remain.”
It told me stories of sailors who kissed the waves,
chasing horizons they never reached.
It mourned the ones who surrendered too soon,
those whose dreams lie buried in its depths.
But it also celebrated the ones who fought through its fury,
who survived its tempests and rose again.
“You are no different,” the ocean whispered.
“You rise and fall like my tides,
pulled by forces you cannot control.
You carry your burdens quietly,
just as I hold the weight of the world in my depths.”
The ocean showed me faces in its reflection—
faces of those I had loved, lost, and let go.
It reminded me of the moments I had drifted,
the times I had fought to stay afloat,
and the quiet, steady rhythm of simply surviving.
“Look closer,” the ocean said.
“I am not separate from you.
I am the storms you’ve weathered,
the calm you seek, the chaos you carry.
I give and take, I rise and fall,
and yet, I endure
I felt its pull, not as a force to fear,
but as a truth I could finally understand.
The ocean was not just water, waves, and depth.
It was everything—grief, resilience, connection, and time.
It was the stories I’ve lived, the people I’ve known,
and the parts of me I had forgotten
And in that moment, I understood.
The ocean wasn’t watching me from afar.
The ocean wasn’t something outside of me.
The ocean was me

*We all know about western philosophies such as existentialism, stoicism.
Let's look forward to know about eastern philosophy's one of biggest tributaries: Indian philosophy of Vedas and vedantas
Unlike western philosophies , indan philosophy follows 2 schools : **astika and nastika
Astika consider Vedas and vedantas relevant source of knowledge and they follow six major philosophies
1) नयाय(nayaya)
-Founded by akshadpad guatam
-logical thinking to achieve salvation
-atomic pluralist and logical realist
2) वैशेषिक(vaisheshik)
-founded by kannad
-All objects in the universe are reducible to a finite number of atoms
-Brahman is regarded as the fundamental in these atoms that causes consciousness
3) सांख्य(sankhya)
-kapil mani founded
-Everything, in reality, stems to purusha(self or soul or mind) and prakriti(matter, creative agency, nature, engery)
4)योग(yoga)
-founded by patanjali
-one can achieve salvation by -combining meditation and physical application
5) पूर्व मीमांसा(purva mimansa)
-founded by jamini
-analysis of interpretation, application and use of text of the samhita and Brahmana
Portions of the veda
6)उत्तर मीमांसा(uttra mimansa)
-founded by vyasa
-if a person attains the knowledge of self, he would atomatically understand "brahm" archive salvation
Nastika do not consider Vedas as a good source of knowledge.
There are four major philosophies of this school
1)charvaka
-brihspati founded
-direct perception is the only means of establishing and accepting the truth
2) Buddhism
-sidhartha Gautam/lord Budha
-if suffering is in the world, there is a cause of suffering, and then there's a way to end suffering.
- the question of God is largely irrelevant
-mostly disregards vedic scriptures and knowledge and except the concept of karma.
3) Jainism
-founded by lord mahaveer
Anekantavada, the idea that reality is perceived differently from different points of views, and that no single view points is completely true.
4) Ajivikas
-founded by goshala maskariputra
-there is no reason or cause for the depravity of things, they deprave without reason or cause.
Indian philosophy has a balanced approach towards the topics of gods as well. Although unlike western philosophy where gods existence created a big feud between the philosophers.
Indian philosophy is practical and life centric. That means wether you believe in god or not, philosophy pushes you to an idea of Dharma(responsibility),
Karma(action) and artha(meaning).**
And ultimately achieving the ultimate goal of life, Moksha(freedom from eternal cycle of life death rebirth)
So let's focus on a life centric way understanding youself rather than God centric way of understanding youself*
