main character (Lloyd) is practically an eldrich being and possibly one of the lowkey scariest protagonists while looking (maybe too) adorable. When the show kicks off though it gets amazing with the final arc being one of my favorites in the season in aired in. When it does hit it goes hard in both animation and impact. Definitely a 9/10 show for me and an easy recommend to anyone that can handle it. Also yes, Lloyd is definitely caked up way more than he should be but I guess we can call that equal opportunity fanservice. He doesn't actually get in a lot of lewd situations just his design is.. something else.

Yuru Camp S3 - It's more yuru camp. If you have seen up to this and haven't then it's still more yuru camp. For anyone not seen it yet, it's definitely one of the new peaks of CGDCT. The girls are cuter and well done as ever and they definitely do cute things, camping. Just a bunch of girls having a good time camping while going hard on the maximum of comfy vibes.

Girls Band Cry - Holy shit is this show actually amazing. Joey mentioned it before in his usual way, comparing it to his (in his opinion) unstoppable girl band show K-On. This imo transcends both of those because it showcases the indie band lifestyle way more than either Bocchi and K-on do. This show is rock and roll. It's also definitely one of the more experimental shows because it does use CG animation but it does it incredibly well, especially considering it came from Toei Animation somehow. The characters are terrible at being Japanese, much to the fault of those around them, but that only makes them better. It's a bunch of damaged and angry people getting their feelings out in the way they understand best, rock. The characters by the way are amazingly well done, with a lot of growth and development even in these 12 episodes, and it all feels so good and organic. Not everything will work out perfectly and it doesn't. They have problems and they somehow barely work through them together as a band. I definitely recommend this to anyone that needs a break from the usual anime stuff, especially if they want a show like K-on or Bocchi that go harder. Just a warning though is that it's not on streaming but very recently it just came to be purchased on Amazon and other sites. So yeah gotta rely on fansubs unless you want to buy it like I did.

Train to the End of the World - Now back to anime bullshit. Because this is some surreal anime only bullshit. To put it simply, it is a bunch of cute girls that go on a train to try to fix a world that got fucked up. The world is definitely fucked up too, like entirely in a way that is best shown through the medium of anime. The characters are fun and it's definitely a fun 8.5/10 show to watch to get a dose of anime original insanity. Maybe best described as trying to drive a train while deep into a drug trip.

Summer 2024 (Now)

Everything I'm getting into now is current season stuff, so it may be subject to change. I'll only rate stuff based off of what we have now with the assumption that the current quality keeps up. Just take it with a grain of salt.

Oshi No Ko S2 - It's definitely Oshi no Ko and honestly (aside from Episode 1) some of the best it's ever been. It's a character focused show at heart and it does that amazingly. If you are someone that only cares about a story progressing forward then you may bounce off of the show and that's fine. It's staying true to its nature and niche of focusing on these characters and developing them while giving (supposed) insights on the industry and it's doing that well. At least I think it's doing well I'm not knowledgeable on industry bullshit. But anyways the character moments are amazing and animation and direction with the play parts are simply amazing. A must watch for those that are into it and a show that definitely needs to be talked about more. It is amazing right now.

Alya Sometimes Hides Her Feelings in Russian - This is a weird show because it is gremlin anime bullshit. It's a show that knows it's a romance anime and plays into

Hopefully this can highlight some of the awesome shows that have aired so far this year for some that may not be as deep as I am. This was originally going to just be a comment on the discussion for this episode but it got quite long. There shouldn't be any spoilers either. If I messed that up then I can change it. Turns out I watch more shows than I thought I did. Teehee.

Oh and also this is just shows I like. There are other good shows out there too, like One Piece, Tower of God, Demon Slayer, Kaijuu 8, My Hero, etc. I just haven't seen them. Feel free to share the other stuff you love too though!

Winter 2024 (January)

Dungeon Meshi - They talked about it and it's good. Just good vibes dungeon crawling and dungeon eating. Amazing fun characters with good animation.

The Dangers in My Heart S2 - IMO the ultimate in romance anime. The male lead is well done with good character development and does the "shy boy" trope really well. Main girl is a sweetheart and super cute. All of the supporting cast are awesome and a bunch of well done characters all around.

(NSFW) Gushing Over Magical Girls - Heavy emphasis on the NSFW. If we didn't get more Mushoku Tensei this year I'd say this is one of the most controversial shows of the year. Amazing show though with unfortuantely limited animation. Love the characters and everything going on. Even has some good character development and some amazing character moments between them.

'Tis Time for "Torture," Princess - Just pure comfy with a side of comedy and awesome characters. This is one of the more SoL shows and that's fine. It's just pure good comfy fun fantasy shenanigans.

Spring 2024 (April)

Konosuba S3 - I would arguably this has been the funniest Konosuba has ever been. It's so good and does everything it needs to perfectly. This time with more of a focus on Darkness in terms of plot in the best way because it actually develops her character with an amazing and perfectly on brand finish to that whole arc. If you love konosuba then you should have seen this already.

Mushoku Tensei S2P2 - Personally, im not a huge fan of Mushoku Tensei but I know people that love it really love it. So this is for yall. If you like it then it's apparently more Mushoku Tensei that you love. Just please don't argue over this in the comments there's much better places for that.

That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime S3 - So, this ones a bit of a mixed bag. The first half is meeting isekai. It's the perfect show for people that just want to see what it's like where a meeting goes well and you have a few hours of that. The currently airing arc is awesome however and there's a ton of really fun character moments with it. The stakes are really low and it's mostly just city building funsies, so if you are into that then it's still good.

Wind Breaker - For people that want some good yaoi bois bunching the shit out of people. The animation and fight choreography is absolutely stellar here but other then that it's cool/cute highschool kids being good hearted punks. I definitely recommend it just for the animation alone but a definite sell for those that want good hearted bois.

Spice and Wolf Remake - It's spice and wolf brotherhood. So I've personally never watched the original spice and wolf and love this one. Holo is adorable and a potential best waifu forever. Lawrence is a great fun character and their dynamic is just perfect. Definitely recommend for anyone that likes Spice and Wolf and an easy show I can recommend to just about anyone. Good story and characters without any design problems to ruin that.

I went into this expecting it to be isekai trash and it has all of the makings of an isekai trash. It has fanservice, it has isekai bs and it has the waifu designs.
