The first picture is of Amitabh …

The first picture is of Amitabh Bachchan, the brand ambassador of Lux Cozi which claims to protect from cold!

The second picture is of Juhi Chawla and her husband Jai Mehta. Juhi Chawla is the brand ambassador of hair saving and baldness treatment oil Kesh King!

The third picture is of Javed Akhtar, who is the brand ambassador of Dr Ortho, a medicine to relieve joint pain and keep running again.

First I lose an IIT graduate who studied on my tax money to a foreign country.

Then that foreign country innovates and builds an MRI machine with the help of that smart IIT graduate.

Then my country imports that MRI machine to install it in a hospital.

Then I visit that hospital and find the cost of MRI exorbitantly high.

Then hospital tells me this machine is imported from a foreign country and its very expensive hence they are trying to recover the cost

And I end up paying my post tax money to the hospital for that MRI.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Now replace that "foreign" country with any name
And Replace that "MRI" with any other technology

Stop reading 100 books.

Focus on taking action.

Taking action is free.

You don't need money to get started.

You don't need more information either.

Three key takeaways on leadership from the recent OpenAI controversy:

  1. Leaders are not appointed; they must earn their position. The soldiers who were supposed to arrest Napoleon on his return from exile, joined him instead. He was their emperor. Sam is OpenAI's emperor.

  2. Human intelligence is multi-dimensional, and we often specialize in narrow areas. This is why even a technically brilliant individual like Ilya Sutskever can show utter lack of wisdom. They should not be in charge of steering the future of humanity.

  3. Doers > Talkers. Our society is full of Intellectual Yet Idiots (IYIs) who smooth talk their way into company boards or TED talks. Never confuse them with doers who get things done.

Can you guess what was the first product of Nokia?

Toilet Paper!

The first business of Samsung was of a grocery store

LG started its business selling face cream

Wipro started as a company manufacturing and selling vegetable oil, soaps, detergents, talcum powder

YouTube first started as a dating website

IKEA’s first product was a pen

Play Doh made a cleaner that could remove coal residue from wallpaper

Nintendo started as a playing cards company

Tiffany’s started as a stationery store in New York

Gap started as a record store

American Express started as a courier service

Companies that last don’t commit themselves to one product or business…

They weren’t always successful. Most of the above have gone through phases where they were almost bankrupt.

Companies that last constantly reinvent themselves based on consumer needs and advancement.

So, don’t be committed to your product or business… be committed to solving problems for your target customer. (Credits: unknown)
