The main aim of this article is to discuss the epistemological role of the Madani philosophy as a source of conceptual and policy frameworks for counter-extremism responses. The discussion is set against the background of contemporary discourse on terrorism in which there is growing criticism of the lack of objectivity in the approach to terrorism. The article argues that the global search for a universally agreed definition of terrorism would be better served if the issue of terrorism is to be discussed within the framework of a broader discourse on extremism of which it is treated as a special case.

On behalf of the Muslim Youth Movement of Malaysia (ABIM), we extend our deepest condolences to the government and people of Iran on the tragic loss of your esteemed President, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, and other victims in the recent helicopter crash.

We are profoundly saddened by this unfortunate incident and the immense loss it represents for your nation. The late President and his colleagues were not only significant figures in Iran but also influential leaders in the broader Muslim Ummah, contributing greatly to the advancement and unity of our community.
