??: Sergeant James I. Mestrovitch was a United States Army soldier who received the Medal of Honor, America's highest military decoration, for his brave actions in World War I.

Born on May 22, 1894 as Joko Meštrović in Đuraševići, Montenegro, he immigrated to Fresno, California in 1911 at the age of 17. He enlisted in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. In August 1918, during the Second Battle of the Marne, he saved the life of his company commander by crawling through heavy machine gun fire to drag him back to safety and for his actions he was awarded the Medal of Honor. He died on November 4, 1918 - some reports say it was the flu, while others say he was killed in action. After the First World War, he was buried in his hometown near Radovic.
