Not all heroes wear capes 😎

Last month there was a Q & A meeting in Cockermouth, West Cumbria.

You can just about make out Joy, behind the table, in action, fighting the good fight against water fluoridation.

This meeting was arranged by Fluoride Free Cumbria which unfortunately became refluoridated earlier this year.

The fluoridation equipment is still being commissioned and currently, fluoride levels are at 0.5mg F/litre. (Analysed by Joy Warren on 15th March 2024 using an Extech Exstik II fluoride gauge which is proven technology.)

The panel for the meeting comprised John Lewis, a dentist from non-fluoridated Penrith who spoke in favour of WF and Dave Forrest and Joy Warren who spoke against WF.

There should have been a fourth member of the panel but Dr Ray Lowry of the British Fluoridation Society decided it was more than his reputation was worth to debate with the likes of us!

We greatly admire John Lewis for soldiering on regardless even though, as it turned out, he was sorely tried.

The room was filled to capacity with local people and also with three people supporting WF and five people opposed to WF all of whom had travelled to Cockermouth specially for the meeting.

The meeting was overseen by Dr Ruth Balogh, a Senior Research Fellow of Glasgow University who did a really good "Fiona Bruce" job of keeping the panel in order.

The questions were handed in by the audience as they arrived and there was a goodly selection of topics which the panel was asked to address.

The organisers had been at pains to make this meeting as fair as possible and succeeded in their aim.

There are some more meetings on Water Fluoridation happening next week in Cramlington (25th April) and in Darlington (26th April).

We won't stop our campaign to fight for health-giving water until all of the UK is permanently fluoridation free!
